Photopass Superthread!

I'm going through the pictures we took on our camera last week in DLR. I really liked the 60th Anniversary opportunities. Here is the one in Bug's Land in DCA. A photographer wasn't there and I saw many people taking the pic by standing in the front frame, which is a nice pic. 1183.JPG

But when you stand close to the back board you get framed by the front and it makes you look tiny like a bug and that you are standing on the leaf.

Pretty cool!

I just got back from DLR and used the new Photopass option for AP holders (I have a Premier AP, but I'm guessing it works in a similar fashion for the Signature/Signature Plus).

To get the ride photos, you need to write down the entire photo ID on the screen (usually one letter followed by a series of numbers). That is all you need; you don't need to go to the counter any more. Then on the AP Photospass page, enter that ID "Claim Photos" webpage (you'll need to be logged into your AP account). You need the letter (I didn't know that at first, so I had to go about getting them afterwards, so make sure to note the entire ID).

You can also link regular Photopass cards to your AP account (I would recommend doing that so you don't have to get out your AP as often and risk losing it). Once you've linked the Photopass card to your AP account, the photos will automatically appear (it can take a bit for them to appear).

Lastly, Magic Shots...yes, they are included with the AP Photopass, but they take longer to appear than the non-Magic Shot photos. My group took three Magic Shot photos and the normal photos appeared very quickly (almost instantly), but the Magic Shots didn't appear for several hours (overnight in one case). So just keep that in mind if you take Magic Shots, but they don't appear as soon as the other photos.

Figment, do you have to download the photos one at a time, or can you do a whole batch at once?
You can download several at once.

Awesome, thank you! Have you noticed if you can edit the photos and add stickers, borders, etc?

I'd still love more stories and feedback from the parties.

I'm still hoping for some feedback on what time I would need to get to the hub to get a good spot for Halloween Screams (near the castle, so no view of PTN). Since nobody has replied, I can only assume that nobody does this, so maybe I can show up 5 minutes before show time!

Thanks Figment!

We are still undecided between renewing at the Deluxe or Signature level, since for us the price difference is roughly the cost of three PP+. I did get PP+ for our trip next week, but won't be getting it for our 1-day trip in December, so being able to use our AP for may make that decision for us.

I don't honestly know. I'm kind of inclined to think that they aren't going to add those options so that they still have some incentives to get guests to purchase PP+. Either that or it means the AP website and the Photopass websites have to merge/cross-communicate and we all know how well it goes when Disney has to overhaul a portion of their websites...

Though in all honesty I'm disappointed in the lack of borders (and I'm hopeful it will come .... soon). I was looking forward to the 60th anniversary borders, and I always love adding the simple signatures to character pictures.
I was able to sell the PPP I prepurchased 3 days before the change in the AP's, and I now have 2 weeks to decide whether to go ahead and still pre-order it (and not upgrade my AP).

So, it gets a little more interesting...I was looking at the AP Photopass options on the WaltDisneyWorld.com website and you can add borders and stickers to those photos and then download them. So...maybe there is hope for DLR yet! (Also, the WDW AP Photopass includes a few stock photos - that's I all I have in the account right now.)

Ooohh, that makes me hopeful. Should we inundate Disney with the question? Who do you think would be the most appropriate to message - photopass or Disneyland?

Where are the stickers on the PhotoPass page? Or did mine just not have any locations with that option? I only had borders to choose from. Wish they would have had a Christmas one to select!

I've never seen stickers for DL's PP+, the closest they have is a signature for the character that is in the picture.

There are different little cartoon characters, logos, etcetera that are digital stickers to add to your pictures, similar to the borders.

I guess I've always considered those borders still since you can't move the placement around like you could a "sticker"
To the original question, they are within the same area as the borders (not like on shutterfly where there is a different tab for stickers/embellishments and borders, when making a photobook)

Ah, I see what you're saying and I agree you are a limited to the place that they put that image instead of being able to move it around.

I see, I wanted to make sure I didn't miss something in my pictures so I know for next time. We didn't do any character meet and greets pics other than the Cars.

Help. I forgot how to do this. Its been a few years since i have done the PP+ after i edit all my pictures, do i have to add each one to the cart? Or do i just add the disc and the promotion code. I'm so confused. LOL Thanks!!!

You do not add them one by one, you just go in to order the CD and then enter your code from the certificate (which I believe was inside your CD case when you ordered/purchased) and that code is what will get you the CD (or download option) at no extra cost. Look at page 1 of this SuperThread for more detailed instructions including a picture of the sheet with the code you will need.
