Photopass Superthread!

(Posted something similar in another thread)

I think I won't buy the package. I wanted to get it so mom and I could enjoy quality photos of our 1st DL trip in over 12 years but I was reading some other reviews and people were complaining that there aren't many pp+ stops in the DLR. Just a few in DL and some more in CA. They were also saying that many of the photographers aren't "professional", so the pics don't look that amazing... :C

I really don't know what to do because it is a bit expensive and we only have tickets for 3 days. We want to enjoy the parks as much as we can and if the price is going to be worth it then we'd have to actually look for the photographers and take our time when taking the picture. And like I said in another post, the dollar in my country is really expensive right now so I'm going to pay almost double for the package. That's why I wonder if its really worth it!

I'm confused!!

The quality does vary. Some photographers are skilled and enthusiastic, others not so much. You can always have them take a photo with your camera as well, so you can still get Picts of your entire group, even if you don't purchase the Photopass photos.

You are correct. If it's a shot that's important to me, I usually have them take it in my camera as well, just in case.

So jealous! My friends are in Disney World this week and they can download their pictures while on vacation- they have shared their family shots, magic shots, and character interactions with their friends on Facebook.

So is it not possible to get two copies of the same card? I am guessing not since I haven't seen anything like that. This is our first time getting fastpass plus and I'm just trying to figure out what to do when we split up. I am excited to give it a chance this trip since we have never even purchased a photo pass picture before, I hope they are nice!

You don't need two copies of the same card. If you split up, the party that does not have the photopass+ card can just get a regular photopass card. If they go on rides that they want the photos from, they need to write down (or take a pic on cell phone) the number of the picture and then the person with the actual PP+ card can go back to the kiosk and have that photo added to the account. I believe this has to be done the same day as the ride though. When you get home, you upload all the cards to your account and they will all be available to add to your CD.

When we were there in August the CM at the Space Mountain photo location told me they keep the photos for 2 weeks. As long as you have the photo number, they can retrieve the photo and adds it to the PP+ card. I was able to add a photo to my PP+ card that was from 2 days prior. I didn't think I was going to be able to and was pleasantly surprised.

Can you not see your pics as you go in DL????

I haven't been to DL yet (or Disney World in a long time) but it sounds like you can view your DL pics but you can't download them until you 'pay' using your PhotoPass+ Code to get your CD/downloads when you are finished taking/adding/editing photos. DisneyWorld uses the My Disney Experience App so you can access your pics sooner and share on social media right from the App. http://disneyparks.disney.go.com/bl...ments-to-the-my-disney-experience-mobile-app/

I didn't realize that. Interesting. We've only done MM at WDW so this is news to me. I love posting those pics as we go I guess it'll be a mass post when we get home! Thanks for info.

At DLR, there is typically no ability to download most of your PhotoPass photos - just the CD. However, if something goes wrong with your CD(s), as happened to me, it can happen that the PP people can flip a switch on your account that makes it possible. I don't know if that's something you can call about if there was NOT a problem with your account.

We always take a picture on our cell phone of the PP card, the photographer can also scan the photo to add the pictures to the account immediately (rather than having to go into the photo store to have the pictures transferred)

Does anyone know if there are any halloween magic shots for PP+ this year? Also, can anyone post pics of halloween borders for PP+? Thanks!

We had one halloween magic shot done today in front of the Partners statue-- I haven't looked at it yet, but the photographer said it was something about bobbing an apple in a cauldron. I'll post it when i get it in a couple of days.

The CM's will come around and ask if you would like to purchase a package of these photos in a cardboard 'frame'. These usually cost $39.95. Photos are taken at: Goofy's Kitchen, Ariels Grotto, Minnie And Friends, and Surfs Up.

Does this mean i am given actual photos at this meal? Im contemplating goofys kitchen and am trying to figure out the photopass with it since it would probably be the night before... Even if it isnt and i bring my photopass... Do i get an actual printed out picture in a frame as well?

I bought PhotoPass Plus for the very first time this year! Im going in December so I was a bit over anxious LOL. I can't wait to load it up with oodles of fun pictures!! I usually enjoy taking pictures of the park and decorations, and forget to include people LOL! This way, my boyfriend and I will have some great shots of the two of us and I can go nuts with the park shots! Im so glad I spotted this thread, its really going to help me out!

I just looked at my PhotoPass+ CD pack that I received, and there is NO VOUCHER to exchange. What should I do?

Yes, it is the actual photo for that. If you have already purchased pp it should include the actual photo for the meal in with your package. Show them your pp card or if you haven't redeemed it yet I've heard they can do it there for you.

Thanks thats nice! Im trying to find info on goofys kitchen to see if its something worth doing haha all i know is its a meal and characters are there...lol its nice to know the pics are included there too!

If I bought the photopass+ a week ago for my trip Oct 31st and now photopass+ photos will be included with the AP, will they refund my money for the photopass+? I don't want to pay for it if it's included with my pass.

I just bought the PP package a few days ago, but haven't revived my information in the mail yet. I thought it would work just like at WDW, so I'm a little bummed to know I can't download while on our DL vacation. Mostly, however, I'm concerned that the pictures arrive on a CD! We don't even use a CD drive on our computer anymore!!! I wonder if DLR is still selling their movies on VHS, too? Goodness!!

Lol! Between paper fp and this we are behind the times I guess at dlr :lmao:you still have to wait until your trip is over but I am pretty sure you can do digital downloads of your photos instead of the cd- you chose one or the other. You have to wait between 1-2 weeks to get the initial stuff after you pre-order you pp though- dlr is not fasting shipping...

Hmmm... That's a tough one! Do you (or kiddos if you have them) love characters? It's more of a pay for the experience then the food for sure. For us Goofys is not worth it (we haven't been there), but Storytellers and Minnie's are worth it for us. We live the food at Storytellers and the characters were unusual and great with my shy DD. Minnie's has a LOT of characters as well! Goofys has the same 5 everyday now and they are ones you can easily see in the park or another breakfast with no line. The food is a big variety compared to the other meals, but with the picky eaters in my family pbj pizza and such isn't a big draw lol you will probably enjoy any of the meals but I would recommend looking into Minnie's or Storytellers as well (they are also slightly less expensive)
