Photopass special effects

Is there a list somewhere with the spots that have special effects? I only know about in front of the castle with tinkerbell. Do you just ask the photographer at each spot if there are any available? We have used pp 6x now and only once did the photographer offer or mention it. We are going in a couple weeks and I'm hoping to have better luck this time with our pictures. Last year, feet were cut off, tops of heads, photo wasn't centered, it was really really bad, took me forever to edit. Hoping to have better luck this time.

I don't know if there is a list, but we asked the photopass photographers and they were very helpful. There is Tinkerbell, balloons, Olaf, chip from beauty and the beast, in Carsland, you can get something, but not sure which character, pasqual from tangled... Lots! They also told us they are getting more. Areas were in front of the castle, inside the main gates, and at the hub.

We asked every time, most were really helpful. In DL we got Tink, balloons, Olaf. Didn't bother with Chip or Pascal. In DCA we got Stitch, Flo, Lizzie but the one of Mater and the Dinoco helicopter didn't work because there wasn't enough sky in the picture and we didn't bother redoing it. Definitely get them checked every day or 2 as they can add the effects in if anything is missing.

Train Station

Look for the photographers at the front of the Train Station Tinker Bell and Mickey balloons!

Main Entrance

Classic scenic shots include spots near the Main Entrance at the tip of Town Square on Main Street, U.S.A. Tinker Bell

Town Square

Disney has a great display of balloons, invitation, and a banner reading Celebrate Today! Tinker Bell, Minnie Mouse, Mickey Mouse
Partners Statue Tinker Bell

Castle Area Tinker Bell
Haunted Mansion Hitchhiking Ghosts inside the entrance. Mickey or Minnie outside the entrance's fence.

Fantasyland Disney Princess Fantasy Faire is the perfect place for posing with the princesses. You can also have your photo taken at Pixie Hollow, plus get your photo done with the Matterhorn in the background.

Tomorrowland

Have your photo taken in front of the Finding Nemo Subs. In the evening, photographers take pictures outside of the AstroOrbitor & Space Mountain.

At the Jedi Training Academy (located outside the Tomorrowland Terrace): Darth Vader poses for pictures, even if you are not in the show Lightsaber blades are added to your battle with Darth Vader.

Frontierland

Rivers of America has photographers, and so does Big Thunder Mountain Captain Hook at Rivers of America

Tom Sawyer's Island

Be sure to stop in Mickey's House. He even has a movie set from Steamboat Willie!

Main Entrance

Start with a fun portrait with the Golden Gate Bridge or a Greetings from California postcard in the background just as you enter the Main Entrance into the California fun! Tinker Bell; Mickey, Minnie, & Goofy Soaring in a hang glider.

Sunshine Plaza
Disney characters can be found in Sunshine Plaza and on Hollywood Boulevard. Check the Times Guide when you get to the park for the latest meet and greet times.

FREE photo for Disney Visa Cardholders! Go to the the Hollywood Pictures Backlot area of Disney California Adventure for the first hour and a half that the park is open. Show your Disney Visa and your family will be escorted to a private area where you will meet some Disney characters. Then stop by the Kodak store on your way out and get your free 5 x 7 photo!

Stop for photos with some terrific backgrounds at the waterfall along the Golden State walkway and on the bridge near Paradise Pier. Night photos come out just beautifully here!

To the PP above, I think your list is very outdated. Just be prepared that many of those aren't done anymore.

To the OP, we had all of our magic shots done in Fantasyland. Those included Pascal, Chip, Olaf, Balloons & Tink. We've done the Stitch coming out on the bridge leading up to Paradise Pier over in DCA. My friend who recently went was able to get the ones in Carsland. That has become a must do for us on our next trip!

Do most folks just ask the Photopass photographers if they have a Magic Shot? I emailed Disneyland and/or Photopass (I don't remember which one) about a list of Magic Shots and they said they did not have a list because it's constantly changing.

Look for the roving photographer in Cars land just before you get to the Cozy Cone area. The tripod guys can't do much , but the roving guy took us on a tour of Carsland with a bunch of great regular and magic shots!

We were there two weeks ago, and got the following magic shots:

In front of castle:
Tinkerbell, Pascal, Chip and Olaf

Partners Statue:
Mickey / Minnie on the benches

In DCA:
Mickey balloons in front of waterfall @ GRR on parade route

Cars Land:
As PP mentioned, you need to find the "roving" photopass photographer. They took us around Cars Land and did:
Flo (in front of Flo's )
Lizzie (in front of her shop and behind Flo's where the RSR cars fly by
Mater in the Dinoco Helicopter (also behind Flo's where the RSR cars fly by)

There are three stationary photographers in Cars Land as well (at entrance sign, halfway down Route 66, and all the way down by the statue of Stanley)...but they don't do magic shots that I'm aware of. I could be wrong.

Generally speaking, just ask each photographer if they have any magic shots they can do!
