Photopass - so let me get this straight...

Sorry if this has been already asked a million times but I want to make sure I have this photopass thing correct.

If I pre-order the CD it is $99 (or something like that) and I get ALL of the pics they take on the trip and I can do whatever I want with them - make my own copies, print them wherever, make collages on other sites.

If I don't PRE-order the CD I can get the same thing as listed above for $149 when I am on my trip.

If I opt not to buy the CD I can get individual prints of pictures taken but I have to order through Disney only - can't print from home when I return from my trip.

Did I make that clear or really confusing? And am I understanding it correctly??
I pretty much think the way we are going to go is to pre-order the CD but want to make sure I understand correctly!

Yes, and keep in mind that prints from Disney start at $15 each.

Totally clear and, yes, you have it right. One thing to add: if you pre-order the CD and then decide that you didn't get enough pictures to justify the price you can get a full refund. You have nothing to lose by pre-ordering.

After your trip, you will edit your photos online and then order the CD. You'll receive it in the mail about a week later.

If I don't PRE-order the CD I can get the same thing as listed above for $149 when I am on my trip. Yes, but it's better to wait until you get home. It's the same price and you have the ability to add things to the picture. The CD should include original as well as altered pictures.

It used to be that when you pre-ordered you were given a code. That code was then used for redemption. Since you have an opportunity to add things like borders and signatures to the pictures you will need to finalize your order. There is a limit to how long Disney keeps the photos online. I believe it's thirty days or so.

The preorder does not expire. Once you get your photos uploaded you then only have about 30 days before you order or the photos will vanish from the site. I preordered my CD several months ago & we go in December. The credit is in my cart to use whenever I wish to.

So, that's two different answers to the question. I sent Disney an e-mail a few days ago, asking about this, but haven't received a response yet. If/when I do, I'll post it here.

You have 30 days from the day the first photo was taken to claim them, and then an additional 30 days to edit them before you order.
