Does DL have a photopass shoot simular to the one done at the GF some where on property?

They do have a PhotoPass now at the Disneyland Resort, though I have not used it yet. I have only talked to others who have. I was away from Disneyland for several years, and when I made my big return in September of 2007, and then returned again in December, I definitely saw Disney photographers strolling the two parks, waiting for people to approach them. From what I understand, the first photographer gives you a photo card and you go from photographer to photographer, loading the pictures they take onto this little card. I think the card itself is free. Now, I am not clear on what you do when you are all done taking pictures. I have heard that you can access them online somehow and purchase whichever ones you want, OR you can take the card to a designated shop in either of the parks and pick the pictures you want in the shop, and they can frame them for you, OR you have the Cast Members put all the pictures on a photo CD and you can take that home. Of course, needless to say, the price of purchasing even one photo is quite costly, from what I am told. So, getting a CD with ALL the pictures must costs a small fortune!

I imagine the only reasons to use something like the PhotoPass are: A) If you don't take very good pictures yourself and want a few that look professional; B) You are always the designated photographer and never get in any of the group shots yourself, and want some with everyone in them; C) You don't have a camera and just want one or two really good shots.

Sherry E, the photopass shoot at the Grand Floridian is different to the photopass available within the parks.

Snow Shoe, no they do not do a photopass shoot at any of the Disneyland hotels, however as Sherry E has said they do have photopass within the parks.

Thanks for the info. That is interesting to know. So the Grand Floridian's PhotoPass cannot then be carried into the parks to load wth more pictures, or can it?? See, our 'sister' hotel out here is the Grand Californian (it is more like the 'distant cousin'), and even though it is gorgeous and I love it, I see they have not gotten as elaborate and followed some of the traditions that the Grand Floridian has, in terms of holiday decor, for one, and this PhotoPass thing. You would think that the PhotoPass should be good for the entire resort - parks, hotels, Downtown Disney, everything, because people take pictures everywhere and it is an opportunity to make more money for Disney!

We did the GF photo shoot this pass Christmas vacation. Really nice!! Now if you purchase the CD of pictures on site, you can have them add to the CD any photopass cards from the parks at no charge. You also get 3, free 5x7 pictures from the shoot free. If you can't wait to have them print them out there for you, you can do it on line with a special promo code they give you. You can also add borders and other features to the online print.

Thanks for the help, we're heading there in early June.

Not to hijack the thrad but can you tell me more about the photo shoot in GF? How do you arrange it and how much is it?

We did this on our last trip in December -- it was great! We took over a 100 pictures in the parks, but the ones from the GF are the best. I guess it's because we were able to relax and the photographer could take her time with us.

The photo session lasted about a half hour, she took us to various places on the GF grounds. We took several on the beach and a few in front of the fountain. We took a bunch in front of the gingerbread house and Christms tree.

If you go to http://www.disneyphotopass.com/previsitcdplan.aspx you can pre-purchase your CD for $99.95 (a $25 savings). Print out your receipt and take it with you to the GF photo shoot; they will charge you $25 for the sitting fee.
IF you choose NOT to purchase the CD, there is a $50.00 sitting charge plus each photo will be sold to you individually (prices vary). An appointment is necessary and that can be made by calling 407-824-1700. We were able to book our appointment starting at 30 days before our trip.
