Now that our trip is less than a month away :cool1: I'm trying to get all my ducks in a row. When we go to WDW we usually order the photopass. Is it worth it to get one for DLR? Are there lots of photographers around? Do they do magic shots? Does anyone have any coupons for the photopass? The best price I saw was $99 to pre-order. Is that right? Thanks!

when we were there in May, I didn't see that many photographers for photopass. I was actually disappointed since I wanted to have a lot of pictures and order the cd since it is cheaper at DL (now I know why). I saw the photographer at the castle (though not all the time), near the two "entrances", at the wine festival, twice with characters, and on the bridge in CA. I had really hoped for more. Hope you have better luck.

From what I hear, there aren't nearly as many photographers around at DL, but they are around. Last summer, we stopped to get photos with every one we saw (much to our kids' dismay, they kept saying, "please not another picture!"). The CD is much cheaper, I believe it's $59, and we ended up with about 200 photos on it. Lots of great night shots, which are my favorites.

They do magic shots, we have quite a few with Tink and some with Stitch. They are always at the Jedi training academy, you have to go into the photo store and get those shots added onto your photopass card.

Since you don't have any advantage with pre-paying, just plan on getting as many photos taken as you desire and decide whether or not to buy it once you get home (or at the end of your trip).

Here is our PhotoPass thread, so you can see exactly what Magic Shots are available (start at the end of the thread and work backwards, for the most recent magic shots, borders, effects, etc.):

Don't pre-order the CD for DLR. It only makes sense for WDW because it saves a bit of money, but not for DLR. The DLR CD is $59.95 plus $2.00 shipping if you are in the U.S. You can order it online after you return from the trip.

So when I get home and plug in my photopass number it will know that I was in DLR and only charge me $59? Cool - I'm glad I didn't pre-order the CD on line for $99. Thanks!

Yes that is how it works. When it sees that the card # is from DL it changes to the DL price. The other products are not less than WDW only the CD.
