We had it in October, and yes it was worth it because otherwise there'd be no photos at all of me! I suspected this in advance and it turned out to be true,

. We didn't really get much value from the ride photos though, as we're not big into the thrill rides, so tended to ride those only once, and the pics are pretty poor. I definitely wouldn't have bought them on their own. Works better if you ride lots, and either by the law of averages you'll get a good shot, or work out where the camera is and be a little prepared.
Also depends a bit on the time of year. There weren't a ton of photographers as it was a quieter time, so only a limited range of shots at each park. Nothing at resort. Characters were good for us though, although the more minor ones (like Mulan) didn't have a photographer. Also, its not guaranteed. After snapping the family in front of us at Ariel, the PP photographer walked off, so I was left scrabbling to get my own camera out at the last minute, and not being able to be in the pic.
There are a couple of fabulous family groups that kind of make it worth the cost for me on their own. But I wouldn't necessarily get it if I went again.....
I guess that adds up to a cautious yes, dependant on your budet and family preferences
