Photopass Print location?

So i went to Walgreen to print my photopass pics and their system crops them so poorly that it takes out half the borders i added in the photopass site!!

Any suggestions where to get them printed affordably?

Just a quick question. What aspect were the images and what sizes pictures did you try to print? Example: If the camera was using a 3:2 aspect then multiples of that (4:6/6:4) should not be cropped. If you are trying to print outside that aspect parameter then yes it will be cropped. To obtain the image you want, you would have to crop it in post processing, save it and then have it printed. I print quite a few 8x10's and I crop them myself to get the desired effect and then I print it so it comes out exactly like I want it.

I'm making a huge assumption that that is the problem. Whenever I print 4x6's at Walgreens they come out perfect.

Unfortunately, PhotoPass pictures aren't perfectly proportioned to standard photo sizes. Photos that you've added a full border to will probably have a much different aspect ratio than those that do not have a border.

Walgreens is still a great place to get your prints, but you'll need to do some manual editing and cropping before you submit them for printing. I really like Walgreen's web site, you just have to know how to use their crop function. It isn't exactly intuitive.

I've uploaded a few PhotoPass photos from one of our past trips to demonstrate.

Here's what my cart looked like after uploading them to a new album and adding the three I wanted to print to my cart:

The first thing I want to do is add a 5x7 print to each of the photos. That way, when I click the Crop/Rotate link, it will show me a preview of both the 4x6 and 5x7 sizes. From those previews, I can select the size that best suits the specific image. (I'm just doing this so both sizes show in the Crop/Rotate tool's preview window. I don't plan on buying both sizes for every image.)

So the first image I want to look at is the plain picture of the funnel cake, the one without any border. I'll click the Crop/Rotate link under that picture.

It shows me a preview of all the print sizes I've selected.

I can see that for this borderless photo, the 4x6 size shows more of my photo. The 5x7 image is still good, but cuts off more of the left and right side of the image than does the 4x6 size.

I'll return back to the list of images and now check the same image with the border using the same method.

In this case, the 5x7 image looks much better. The 4x6 is cutting off a lot of the border at both the top and bottom. If I click on the 4x6 preview, it will take me into an editing tool that allows me to zoom and rotate the image.

There's just no saving this one, though, at the 4x6 size. Too much of the border is lost. Let's see what the 5x7 looks like. I'll cancel the 4x6 edit, then click on the 5x7 preview.

Still not perfect, but I can live with this border. I tweak it a little bit to move it up a hair, then save it.

The same turned out to be true with my other photo with a border. 4x6 cut off too much, but the 5x7 could be centered well enough to work.

I've tweaked all three photos, removed the print sizes that don't work for each image, and only now am I ready to send them to print.
