Does anyway know if they will take a picture of you using your own camera? Is it allowed? I can't afford to buy the cd.

The woman doing photopass at Mickey's House did use our camera, as well as hers. We ended up buying just that picture because it was so cute. You can buy the pics individually instead of the CD, it's still very pricey, but it's less than the CD for just one picture.

During our last trip they were happy to take pictures using our own personal camera. We also had them take some with their photopass cameras, and we could them review them online when we came home. I didn’t really plan on buying any of their pictures, but letting them take some pictures helped to reduce my guilt in asking them to take pictures using our camera. You don’t have to buy the CD, you can look online to see the pictures they took and buy only the ones you want. We really had no intention of buying any of their pictures, but one was so good that we just couldn’t say no – I think it was about $15.

They do a good job of taking the pictures (good backgrounds, no sun in the eyes, etc.) so it is a good way to get some pictures taken.

They will, but they usually take one with theirs as well, and shockingly, those always turn out better. Lol!

They do take with your camera if you ask. FYI you might consider joining a photopass share group. Your cost is anywhere from 15.00 to 25.00 depending on how many join. This lets you get a cd of all your pictures and makes it much more economical! Have fun!

Actually, you can ask any CMs to take pictures for you. I usually pass them off to Photopass photographers if one is nearby saying they are more "professional" than me. Even though i do know how to take pictures really well. :) Im sneaky sneaky like that! :D

The only Disney location where they wouldn't take your picture for you was on the Cruise. All the photogs at the parks have always taken pics with our camera as well as the photopass one.

Yep, they will def. take your pic with your camera as well. Though as said above, I would highly rec. you get a photopass. You can buy singular photos, not the whole cd if you do not want. You never know if there is just that one amazing photo you cannot pass up.
