Are there very many photopass photographers at DLR? There's a 40% off special right now on the photopass gallery cd. Thinking of pre-ordering...

Wow, 15 pictures... that's crazy! We pre-ordered the cd on our last trip to WDW and came home with 400! Thanks for answering my question. I thought there were fewer photogs at DLR, but wasn't sure.

You have to seek them out. We were there for a total of 5 days, but some of those were 1/2 days. I say wait and see.

There is no advantage to preordering a DLR CD and I'm not sure you could even do it. Way different than WDW.

ETA: The photogallery CD isn't your pics, its the generic pictures throughout the parks.

We were just there for 5 days and I have 20 pictures. I'm so, so happy I did not preorder.

That said, there were defitely photo ops we passed on, but it still would not have been worth it to us.

There is a porportional number of photographers at DLR compared to WDW. The thing is DLR visits are shorter so you will end up getting a proportional amount of photos. That is why the DLR photo CD price is almost 1/3 that of WDW's.

The Gallery CD is not the same thing as the regular photo CD we would buy with our DLR photos on it. That's a totally separate CD.

I've done PhotoPass a bunch of times and I've ordered CDs with 100, 300 and 500 photos on them after only 3- or 4-day trips. I made it work for me. I got my money's worth. It's good to make use of the photographers and make the system work for you if you are going to buy the CD. If you are not able or willing to invest the time to get all the photos taken at the different locations, return to those spots and get more taken and then apply all the borders once you get home, the CD is probably not a good choice for you. It might be better to buy single shots. Or you just kind of have to know that you may only end up with a few photos on your CD.

When I say return to the same photo spots you have already had pictures taken the day before and get them taken again, this is because they might be better the second day than they were the first day. Stop at every photographer you see. Some are better and more fun than others. The photographers won't come to you - you have to seek out every one you see, let them do crazy stuff with you and pose you in assorted ways, ask for all the magic shots and get all kinds of variations of shots. Then, you come home and save a copy of every single border on every single photo - some borders will look better than others, and you have different versions to give out to different family members or whomever.

I would bet that once all the work in DCA is done in 2012 or 2013, there will be a bunch more PhotoPass photographers milling about. Some of them had their spots taken from them once all the work commenced.

We were there for 6 days and only ended up with 31 photos I think but one was of my girls in front of the castle at night, holding up their hands saying they were 5 years old. It was just hard getting my family together to appreciate the photos. I didn't order right away and when it sent me a reminder that my photos were expiring soon, it gave me a code for $15. So I went ahead and ordered the photos on a disk and added borders to some so ended up with 45 photos I think. I also order the DLR resort CD which was $39.95 for 300 photos of the park. I missed alot of those photos on my own and thought they would be fun to have for the scrapbooks!

Ah, I didn't read closely (obviously) about the gallery cd. No wonder it was so cheap!

We pre-ordered our last cd for WDW at $99. We saved some bucks by pre-ordering. It was a great deal since we came back with 400 pictures.

One thing that helped us, was to letting the photographer know that we pre-ordered the cd. When they heard that, they would go out of their way to take multiple shots at each location. We even had one gal walk us through 3 countries at Epcot, to get the best shots!

Anyway, I guess we won't be getting the cd for DLR. Too bad.

It honestly depends on the people and the emphasis on getting photos. DH and I were there for 3 full days and 2 half days during the food and wine festival. It's just us (no kids) - we had 90 some pictures before adding borders, etc....we ended up with 140+ pictures in the end. Absolutely worth the $60

we went for 5 days, and stopped when we weren't in a mad-dash to get somewhere (there were times I really wanted to stop, but we couldn't). I also had 3 kids participate in the Jedi Training, and they took quite a few pics there. I believe we had 115 photos before borders, and over 400 with.

Very few. In 2008, we wnded up with about 110 photopasss pics. This time, we weren't approached at all, and I saw so few over five days, I figured it wasn't worth what I would get charged for the cd.

In comparing individual parks, I would say the DL & DCA do not have nearly as many ppp as the WDW parks. Last year DH & I went to WDW and they had the photographers EVERYWHERE - even to take a pic in front of TOT in Hollywood Studios. I would even say there were less photographers this trip to DL that we just took in June than we've seen during past normal trips in March & October.

We had an almost identical experience when we were there in December except read "Bippity Boppity Boutique" for "Jedi Training". My niece joined us on the day we did BBB, so it was really nice to have a CD where I could print off as many pictures as needed for my DS, the grandparents, and us. Having the CD has also allowed me to create a few special photo projects for which having a hard print out of a picture would not have worked.

I'm definitely planning on getting as many PP pictures as possible on our next trip. I thought it was well worth the cost of the CD.
