Photopass..how many pics do you take?

about this spliting the card...can you get like two cards with the same number or code on it?

No, but you can add as many cards as you like to one account online or when you purchase the CD at WDW. :)

How many will the cd hold? and does anyone have any recent disney photo pass pics they can share.. I love seeing disney pics!

I had between 160 and 170 photos on my photopass cards. Multiply that by 2 for pics on the disk since I added borders or overlays or signatures to just about every one. We asked for a picture most times when we saw a photographer (but still didn't manage to get one in front of the castle - we were always rushing to the rides in the morning and never got back to Main Street), and also had pics taken with the characters. We had a lot because I have a few children and sometimes they posed wtih the characters individually. My disk was $106 well spent. When I was having my disk made, the CM told me they hold over 400 pics, but less than 500 - she wasn't sure of the exact number. If you have more pictures than that, you can buy 2 disks. Also, you can combine photopass cards. I think I had 7 or 8 of them by the end of our trip, because there were some times when DD wasn't with me and got her picture taken and got a new card, plus sometimes the photographers give you a new card without asking if you already have one. Just give the CM all of the cards when you have your disk made and they'll put all the pictures on one disk, regardless of the number of cards.

Where do you get a card? This is all very new to me.

The first time you get your picture taken they will give you a credit card looking thing called a photopass. They will swipe it through their system and your pics will be stored on this card. Everytime you have your pics taken, give them this card and they will add new pics to it. Many people have mentioned the most cost effective (if you take quite a bit of pics) is to have them put it on a disc. They charge $99 for it.

Hope I got everything right :wizard:

Thanks for the information. I never bought a single photo from WDW, except for the ride ones, but never from the photogs. I love it that you can view your pictures all at once before deciding which ones to buy. Can't wait!

the ride photos on the CD though. If you want any of those you must purchase them separately.

I'd love to do the photopass CD and noticed that you can only get this done at epcot or MK...and maybe the Grand Floridian...has anyone done it at the GF? That would save us an entry into the parks and we could do it on an off park day for fun. How many photos did people get done at Epcot? We only plan on going to Epcot for this trip next week (we'll do more in Sept for Free dining!)

Are these cds copyable? I'm going with 3 friends so if we each chip in the $25 can I make 3 other copies?

I am too much of a techno-geek, but when my sister and I split our CD, I loaded the pictures directly on my computer. Sis then took the CD home for her kids to make fun of (Hey, did you see Auntie Vicki and Mom in those stupid shamrock sunglasses? Boy am I glad I wasn't there to be embarassed. When will they ever grow up?)

Then I copied all of the pictures on to an empty CD-R. Worked like a charm and have since loaded said shamrock sunglass picture on my computer at work. Now I can see us acting silly evey time I boot up.

BTW - with just the 2 of us, there were over 40 pictures, and then almost 80 after they were "disnified". The photographers at Mickey's toon town were FANTASTIC!!! :woohoo:

We just got back last night. We had 236 pictures on the photo pass card. We had them put on the CD for $99.95 It was a really good deal. We had our CD made at Downtown Disney at the Wonderful World of Memories Store. They added borders and signatures. It was really nice.

236 pictures??? We you there for 2 months? :rotfl:

Holy cow!! I wish I were good with taking pics.. Were the pics all from character greetings and Main St. stuff?

The CD sounds like such a great idea! We want to do this for our next trip in December. How many choices do they have for borders, signatures, etc. Do you look at a screen and pick the ones to add to? Do you pay for it when you get it or at the end of the trip? The CD is completed at Toon Town and Grand Floridian, is that right? :confused3

I would really appreciate any further explanation. :wave2:

During our last family trip we allowed them to take around 38 photographs.

We did not purchase any of them since we had a corresponding photograph during each photo shoot which was superior. This is noteable since these photopass photographs where taken by 15 "photgraphers" who pushed the button on their Nikon D70.

You might find their photographs of interest, if you do not own a Digital SLR with at least 6 megapixels, but even then their exposure and composition prove to be their downfall in all of the photos they took...its the operator not the camera.

Always remember you can take photographs right beside the Photopass agent. In some cases they will even take a picture with your camera too.

love the idea we all can be in the picture together as a "family" as there is just me Dh and DD4, its often just me and dd or dh and dd.
I guess MNSSHP will be a great place to have some photos done!?

Does this work in the UK?

We plan to view and but our CD on our last night, in DTD, as ive read they do this at Disneys wonderful world of memories store. Does anyone know what time they are open till on Friday nights please?

Thanks

We were there 9 days. We had 126 pictures and then they added some borders and signatures to some and we ended up with 126 original shots and 110 enhanced shots. We had our CD done at Downtown Disney at the World Of Memories store. The girl working at the photopass booth is the person who actually added all the borders and signatures.

I also took over 300 pictures with my own personal camera. I have a digital SLR the Nikon D50. I just like to use the photo pass pictures because we can all be in the picture, instead of me taking all the pics. I have to say that I was very pleased with all the photo pass pics. When you have them copied to the CD they can crop and align and lighten or darken them so they all really came out great. I highly recommend that you take advantage of the Photo pass CD. Now that I am home I am going to order our Vacation DVD with all the pics in it.

I know the ride photos are not included but are the photos at the character breakfasts included?

This is a great string! Last year, we waited until we got home to do the cropping and adding borders -- I assume the website is the same as what the CMs at WDW use, so if you are short of time, perhaps you can just do at home? Didn't know about the $99 CD option, but will definitely consider for our trip next month.

And since you have the rights to the photos, anyone thinking about using one of these photos for their family holiday card? Have seen drugstore/Wal-Mart type places offering holday card ordering from your CD, so why not?

I thought the cropping and disney borders and signatures were not available on the web site? When you go to get the sigs and borders and stuff done do you feel rushed? It would be nice if they made a little computer room where you could sit down and do it yourself and maybe a staff member or two could walk around and help anyone having problems. I don't want to feel like I'm rushed or that I don't have any say in what is added to them. How was everyones experience with this? I would like to get enhancements done to all of them but I don't want to feel like a time hog with everyone behind me tapping there foot impatiently. We will probably get tons of pictures with 3 kids and a photo addict mom.

I really doubt, But I don't know that for a fact. At character meals they have never given me a card, they just take the pic.

They take the picture, develop it, then come and find you to see if you want to purchase it. Maybe this year when they come up to us I'll say
"that not us" :rotfl: just to see what they say...

Kinda seems like a waste to me..that they go through printing it, etc.

the character meals are NOT included nor the ride pic's as I stated earlier. I will say that I didn't feel rushed at all when they were editing my pics. If anything, I was the rushed one as hubby was waiting to start back home. :sad2: :moped:
