Can you not pre-purchase the photo pass anymore for DL? I can only find a photo pass to purchase for individual days. We will be in Disneyland for 4 days and I really don't want to have to purchase the photopass everyday we are there. Is their a way to purchase for multiple days in advance?
Thank You,
Sharron

The one-day Photopass option is the only product available now.

This product has changed considerably. The website where your pictures are stored has changed and there is no longer any option to add borders as before. Right now it's $39 per day, and that is it - if you want more days then the cost is simply a multiple of the $39. You do not have to pre-purchase though, you can get photo pass cards from the photographers as you see them and add ride photos by adding the number of the photo from the ride and then select a days' worth of pictures you'd like to purchase for download. However, the cost has increased and the offering has decreased so more money for less - which sort of follows along how many businesses operate!

That's all correct. Except I see this as so much worse than most businesses try to get past the public these days. Triple in cost for a 5 day trip, plus a lesser product, all in one fell swoop.

True - but Disney is not a typical business - they don't have the competition many face - they can pretty much name their price. It's not fun but it's reality. Most people can turn and walk away from another business but many people who love Disney do not end up walking away. Yet!

They absolutely can name their price. And I absolutely can choose to not buy Photopass for the first time ever.

You're right that price increases are common in business. I just think this one was a lot worse than what I see from other businesses.

Hmmm, interesting. The old Photopass+ was a huge bargain but this method works ok with me. From what you are saying - you can get as many photos during the day and chose later which day you want to pay for to download all the digital files for that day for $39 or go a la carte? How long do you have to chose after the day the photos are taken?

The photos are available for purchase for 30 days.

OP, I would E-mail them and complain. I have already done so as we go for 5 park days which means that instead of paying $69.95, we now must pay $200 and we no longer get any borders, stickers etc. for our photos. I think they only way they will change it is if they get enough complaints. I got a canned response which did not even answer the question in my E-mail regarding whether they had any plans to fix this issue for people that spend 5 park days on their trips.

I suspect this may make the photopass photographer lines longer because where I used to often just rely on the photopass for our full family shots and only for shots I really would have been upset if I lost would I hand them my camera. Now, I will be handing my camera to each and every photopass photographer to get pictures on it because I won't pay $200. I might pay for a day if some of their shots are a whole lot better than the ones on my camera (probably try to do all our night shots in both parks on one day as those are the ones that don't come out as well on my camera).

Thanks for this idea! This is so true - the night shots are often the best ones as they are able to take such great shots as they always have a tripod - oh that is a great thought - to pick a day and try to get some great night shots and hopefully get some good ride photos in that day and perhaps that'll be the ones to buy.

Good luck finding the night photographers. They never seem to be out when I'm looking for one. I don't think I got a single night shot on our week long trip last October.

So does this mean we pay $39 for a 1 day photo pass then pay to download our pictures later on?? and if this is the case how much are the pictures to download
Thanks

You pay $39.95 and select a days pictures to download. You do not have to pay anything additional.

Perhaps this has changed because we have tonnes of pictures from night time - there is always one in Carsland, usually towards the entrance and then further down by Flo's Cafe, then there is one at Paradise Pier and one looking down main street towards the castle. We have gotten great pictures at all three of these locations multiple nights during our last few visits.

Does anyone know if you can pay the difference to get from a Premium Annual pass to a Signature Premium pass? I've got 2 more trips before my pass expires & I'm thinking it would be worth the approximate $100 to get PP for that time. Especially with one of those trips being on my son's birthday this weekend!

I know it's normally not a problem to upgrade, but this just seems too easy to me.

Yes, but you lose any renewal discount you got when you bought the premium. So if you paid $719 after the $60 discount they'd charge the full difference to $849. If you did get a discount, I'd ask for a lead and try to get them to honor it, because it's worth a shot. Also, the block out dates in December would apply to a Signature AP. So if one of your trips is blocked you'd have to consider that.

That surprises me! Sorry you didn't run across any. We usually get a lot of night shots in California Adventure. We have always found a bunch of photographers in Carsland at night. I think every time we have been there they have had them at the very least stationed at the Carsland sign, along the main path towards RSR, at Flo's, and down by the RSR track at night. My favorite spot is on the path that leads to and from Pacific Wharf past the Radiator Springs Racers track. We have found photographers in two spots there- one just as you going under the arch from the Wharf (my absolute favorite spot) and one in the middle of the path. Those are usually some of my favorite trip photos because the mountain background looks real at night. I have had non-Disney people see the photo and ask where we were and they were surprised when I said it was a Disney park! We also have CA night shots outside Tower of Terror, by the Walt and Mickey statue, with Cathay Circle in the background, and I'm sure there are probably others I am not remembering. As far as the DL side, I can't really remember finding many photopass photographers out for night shots other than around the castle/Main street.

Thank you so much for the feedback! I think I will upgrade.

When I bought the Premium, it was new, not a renewal. So, I wouldn't lose out on a discount. And blockout dates shouldn't be a problem since my trips are this weekend & then April 9th-15th. My pass expires in mid-May & I won't be renewing for this year. My next trip after these will be December at WDW, so I was going to get one of their APs next.

Does the new one day photopass include ride photos from that day if you put them on the card?
