PhotoPass has problems

Hmmm. We only had our pics taken in two areas, total of 6 pics. The ones of all three of us in front of the Castle are awful! I know the photographer can't control the sun in our faces, but the pics are blurry and completely off center. We did a family-photo-camera-exchange with a nice guy and his family in front of the Partners statue that turned out 10x better than the 'professional' ones.

That said, the photographer at MGM where you meet Sorceror Mickey did a great job and those pics turned out very nice. Centered, clear, sharp, good angle.

FatCow (Dave?), I see what you mean about your pics. I don't think the last one is bad at all, you have a very attractive family, but I can see how you would be perturbed about them cropping out the hat, particularly if you had requested it be in the frame. The other pics I think my two year old could have taken. Sorry!

The one in front of SH is not THAT bad, but the photographer should really uses fill-in light (because the sun was behind us).

A good thing I always carry my tripod wherever we went (except for that day)

PS: how do you know my name? do I know you? (just confused)

I'm not Angela but your name is in the picture links - Dave & Pooh, Dave Together - that's why there was a question mark I'm sure - she wasn't sure that you were the one posting or if it was your wife? SO? etc.

puckerup: It appears that, according to your tags, FatCow is a dude, and the only dude in the pics above are quite clearly labeled Dave soooo...well, no wait, strike that, I'm just a really really really good detective. You'll never guess my deductive strategies! :earboy2:

Hmmmm me --> dumb

Yeah, I'm Dave, the other dudettes are my DD6 and my "Somewhat-SO" (long story on the SSO status, not going to go into that)

We had pics taken at both Animal Kingdom and the Magic Kingdom. They were mediocre, true, but being that it was just DBF and I, it was difficult to get pics with both of us in them. I did like the one of the two of us in front of the AK entrance. Added a "happy holidays" banner and will use that one in holiday cards. The other one I bought was of the two of us in front of the Castle, holding Tink in our hands. Wish the photographers had been more prevalent, though. We only had 7 shots to chose from. Overall, a good experience. I hope they get the bugs sorted out. Then again, we won't be back for...well, you can read the counter...and there will probably be yet another system in place!

I copy/pasted mine and printed myself instead of ordering through them
How were you able to do this? It wouldn't let me.
(I did order the pics, BTW....just wondering how you were able to when I wasn't able to C&P)

Simply do a "Print Screen", put it on any photo program, cut the desired area and paste it as a new file.

Or you can go to the source code and hack it (but I'm too lazy to read the entire source code to do that)

Our photos were okay, but the ones my DH took were MUCH better! In one series of character photos, they were all off centered and the photographer cut The Beast's head off! LOL

I just viewed my photos today and I thought they came out pretty good. The only thing is..........I am missing at least one photo of two of my boys with Nemo! If anyone has an extra picture and it might be mine.......please let me know!

I hope they have all the bugs worked out before my February trip...I was really looking forward to trying out the new site!

As far as the photographers go, they could use more training! Last February we only had a handful of pics taken. The AK one in front of the tree was terrible one day, but luckily we had a second morning there and that one came out great. Our pic with Sorcerer Mickey was pretty good. As far as MK goes...the woman had us staring into the sun and wouldn't even let us leave. I was trying to be polite, saying we would just come back later when the sun's angle had changed but she wasn't having it. She kept saying "just one more try" and "okay, don't blink." Blink? My eyes were shut the entire time and I still got a headache...ugh. When my normally placid DD started bawling I said enough is enough and we just walked away. I really should have done that much sooner. Too bad they didn't have PhotoPass then...I wonder how those pics came out, LOL.

I really don't understand how WDW chose the "photographers". They don't even buy brand-new cameras for them. I saw some of them using Nikon, some using Canon, different type of flashes that are retrofitted to work with the Canons and Nikons they use.

With experienced photographers, none of the above would pose any problem. However, when they try to do "point and shoot" job, WDW should really have the exact same camera across the board with their respective flashes so it can do TTL metering. Especially when the "photographers" don't seem to have even seen a camera before.

I'm not a photographer by any stretch of imagination, but if I even know about framing, composition, eye-level approach, fill-in flash, those "photographers" should know better than me.

PS: How can one take an out-of-focus picture when he/she is using an Auto Focus camera with multi-AF-point?

I just checked my pictures and there are pictures of a family in front of the castle but, unfortunately, it isnt us!
