PhotoPass downloads vs PP+?

Is there a difference? I'm trying to plan what kind of tickets we're buying next year, and the Signature AP includes PhotoPass downloads. We always buy PP+ when we go to the parks, but I wasn't sure if this works the same way or not (or if it's the exact same thing).

I think there have been issues up to this point with access to borders for the photos on the AP Photopass shots. That could change by next year, so who knows. If the borders are important to you, I would say wait and see what happens.

The only differences I've found are:
With the Signature AP:
Different site to access photos
Unable to add borders/stickers (I was told they may be adding this in the future)
Only download is an option (can't order the cd)
No print packages at character meals (but you get a redemption code to add the pictures to your AP, these didn't work and I had to send the code to customer service to add them.
Longer access to photos (a full year)

A selling point for you may be that DL has suspended the pre-sale option, so it is now only available in the parks for $100. If you just get one signature AP in your family, it is $250 more, so if your are planning on 3 or more trips, it pays for itself right there. Depending on your spending habits, you could break even with just 2 trips (making up the extra $50 in the extra discounts.

I was debating this with myself too. Borders are important to me but it was hard to think about it being worth $100. I google where I can get disney borders for free and actually used them and loved them. So now I am thinking i won't get the PP+ and just use the free version on my pass.

I have a hunch that means changes are on the way to that entire program.

That's pretty much the general consensus, things are going to be changing with PP/PP+. Hopefully starting with the website user interface.

Yeah, I think we'd all love a new website interface. But I have to tell you I have used the new Photopass site the WDW side and it's just as bad, if not worse. I hold out no hope for any big improvement in something that involves a Disney IT system.

I like the borders, but it's not a dealbreaker. I guess we'll see what happens when the program is undoubtedly revamped. Our first trip isn't until July.

Isn't that the truth!

That was my only hangup but decided for the potential savings, plus having the PP pictures for our adult trips, I went with the Signature for me (and this was before they took away the pp+ preorder.
In the end it saved a bunch of time (I used to be border happy) and I got my pictures quicker!

LOL on the time savings. That would absolutely be the case with me!
