Yes you do get all the pics the photographers around the parks take of you. And then you can add borders and character signatures etc form the website.
There are some great threads on here about photopass. Here is one: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1772053&page=1&highlight=photopass
Absolutely pre-order it, its only 99.95 http://www.disneyphotopass.com/previsitcdplan.aspx.

also, you can join a photopass share over on the budget board if you don't want to deal with the entire $100 cost yourself....and don't mind having copies of other people's pictures!! I've never done a share, but people do them all the time and it really would bring the cost down.....I'm considering it for our next trip!

DW and I never buy pictures either because of the cost. However, with the Photopass and paying $99 for the cd if we get 99 pictures taken that comes out to $1 a picture that can be enhanced with borders etc... Because DW like to scrapbook we will take advantage of this service. When we compare it to wedding, graduation, or any other special occasion pictures it is a good deal. :woohoo: We will get as many as we can when we go down next August.

I have done the pre-order deal and will do so again for my upcoming trip. It's worth it, we got all our pics in from all the water parks, the 4 main parks of WDW and the party's MNSSHP or MVMCP. I did this for both time's we went last year, had each photo pass person taking several pics. I probably could have left my camera at home. Well over 100 pictures each time we used it.

So question: How many pictures, on average, do you get for a short trip? We'll have 3 or 4 parks days and 1 or 2 "down" days...There are 9 of us total (my mom and her DH, me and my fam, my sis and her fam)...and we'll be together alot of the time, but not all the time...my mom will probably buy the CD, but it'd be good if I could tell her if it'll absolutely be worth it so she'll pre-order it.

I know there are some rides, and then they have PP at all the character meet-n-greets, right? Then a few other places too? Am I correct?

TIA!

I couldn't understand why my link was bad until I noticed that it had http:// in it twice - I must've forgotten to delete the first one when I did copy/paste. Sorry!

We've done the Photopass 2x this year. On our 7 day trip, we ended up with over 300 photos after the editing. On our 4 day trip, we still ended up with about 85 photos after editing and we really weren't looking for the PP photographers on that trip - we just didn't have that much time (we have quite a few Star Wars PP pictures from the 2nd trip though).

Even with less than 100 photos, I still think it's the greatest deal -- I added them all to my iPhoto library and now have some on my phone and of course also had them printed for way cheaper than WDW. With the price WDW charges for an 8x10, if you're planning on possibly ordering 7-8 photos from WDW, the Photopass is a better deal. And it's great to have the usual family photographer (in our case, me) in the photos as well.

Edited to add -- if your family splits up into various groups, each group can have their own Photopass card and you just add them all to your account when you get home, so you don't all have to be together to get the Photopass picture.

2nd edit (just can't stop!) -- here's a link to a map showing all the parks and where the PP people are usually located.

Thank you...I was thinking that with so many of us and that we'll probably be in 3 groups at various points, that we could end up with a bunch of pictures...I'm sure I can talk her in to it.

we did it last year and had 544 pics on the cd...will be pre-ordering it again for this Dec trip:cool1:
