Photopass CD question

Ok now it makes sense. Thanks for clarifying.I would rather buy it at the park than online !! They should have the 2 seperate options on their site !
I hope they still have the deal at the Parks- it is a GREAT deal !!

Unless you are a serious photoshop person or someone who just likes the plain, basic, pictures, you don't want to get the Photopass CD (the one with the pictures taken of your family by photopass photographers) at the park, because you cannot edit them there.

Can I start using the Photopass card at the Park w/out registering it ? I was under the impression I HAVE To register it online for it to be valid and usable .

You do NOT have to register it before using it.

Imagine paying $ 149 for the CD that costs $59 :sad2:

Well, you likely wouldn't have been able to do so...as soon as you get some pictures on your card(s) they will be coded for DLR, and the price will almost surely change.

It probably still shows $149 since there are no photos yet, I'd speculate that once you have Disneyland photos, and Disneyland only photos you'll see the correct price when you're ready to buy.

Yep.

Since being home i have registered my photopass number and can still add the borders etc to those photos, i guess the only difference is i don't have them on the CD.

Oh of course you can see them. :) But to buy the prints or the digital image that you can *keep* is approx 14.95 for a 5x7...

If you just wanted the CD you got, that's great and fabulous, and there are plenty of people who just want the basic photos.

But if someone *wants* to have all those edits (each time you save an edit it saves it as a new picture...you can take one picture and turn it into 25 without trying very hard...I turned 2 pix into 50 once...didn't buy any of them, or the CD, but it was fun playing!), they do NOT want to buy it at the parks.

Is buying the CD at the Parks the only option? Or can i go home, make the edits, changes at my convenience ( within 30 days ) and then buy the CD and have it shipped ?

Go home. Enter your code(s) from the back of your PhotoPass (PP) card (s) into your PP account. Then, for every single picture you had taken, you can make edits, adjustments, and enhancements. You can add cool Disney borders. Add graphics. Crop them. Zoom in. Give special effects. Play with them in so many ways you will be amazing. We had about 50 PP pictures from our WDW trip. I turned them into over 300 photos with fun edits and such on the PP web site. in my opinion, a HUGE part of the PP program. You can do some fun stuff with your pictures!

I just returned home last week and purchased the "Disneyland Photo Gallery CD/Disney's PhotoPass Photo CD Value Pack" in the photoshop at the end of Main Street. The cost was $59.95 and I was able to use my annual pass discount to get 10% off! :cool1:

The stock photo CD contains "over 300 high-resolution digital photos from around the Disneyland Resort. Perfect for printing, scrapbooking and viewing on your computer."

On the outside of the CD case it also says "Voucher for Disney's PhotoCD. Order online to get ALL your Disney's PhotoPass photos taken within the last 30 days. Includes copyright release so you can use them in the size and forwats you wish!"

The voucher inside the CD case has a 16-digit promotional code that will make the photopass CD free and it will also ship for free! A great deal if you ask me -- especially because we had a lot of family members on our last trip and ended up with over 150 pictures on the PhotoPass card (before any editing). :thumbsup2

Thankk you sas_mk. It answers my question. I can buy it later online from home AND the deal is still current !! YAY :)

What happens if I have BOTH DLR and WDW pics on my account? We went to WDW in Sept 2010 and just took some DLR pics today. I added the DLR pics and now the photopass CD is showing the cheaper price...$59.95. I don't even have an option to buy the WDW photo cd. Has anyone else dealt with this issue?

If they are both inside the right timeframe to order now...you'll get all of those pictures on the one CD...and since DLR was after WDW, you'll get it for the DLR price.

I am going to WDW the first week of November and then to DLR on the 20th. I was going to pre-order the CD for $99 and then register both sets of PhotoPass photos onto it. From what you are saying, if I register my WDW PhotoPass card(s) and then the DLR card, the CD would then be available for me to purchase for $59? For certain?

Bumbershoot---thanks for the info. Do you know this from experience? Both my WDW and DLR "sets" are within the 30 day timeframe.

I was going to pay $150 for the WDW cd, came home and took DLR photos b/c we only took 70 photos at WDW, which for $150 I thought wasn't worth it.

When I asked the photopass ppl at DLR, they mentioned that I could take DLR photos, add them to my account, and order both. I had *assumed* that I'd simply pay the higher price (ie WDW cd) and get both.

Fingers crossed that I'll get all my pics since my WDW pics expire on 10/11!!

Please post and let us know! I'll be doing the same sort of thing next month!

If you look around for the last year's worth of photopass threads, you'll see that it has been other peoples' experience over and over and over. I haven't been to WDW so I haven't had the experience, but other people have, repeatedly.

In fact, lilpooh108 has just described what has happened on HER account...that she has the two trips, DLR second, and she's now seeing the DLR pricing.

Of course anything could change...

Also of course, the $99 pre-order can be refunded if you don't buy the CD with it...(go to DLR, see the new price, call them, get it refunded, THEN buy the CD online). But anything *could* change.
