Wanted to add to the above post that you can download Picasa2 for free and it has a "glow" button for editing. Here's an example where I brought up the highlights - that "glow" - and added a bit more saturation.

So don't worry, if the post processing isn't there on your favorite photo you can do it yourself! :goodvibes

I realize that isn't exactly the same photo now that they're posted, but it still makes my point and I can't be bothered to try and find the exact right one. LOL

Ember and Sunsh1ne... I really appreciate you showing me what you've done with your pics! I'm slowly but sure feeling better and better. I guess I just let the fact that I was dissapointed in other photographers being booked get int he way of letting myself find someone else that could do just as good a job. :headache:

I'd still like to hear more opinions, but I do have one photographer that I'm already talking to through emails and he's someone I might use and then thanks to one of the girls on here, I'm waiting to hear back from a second photographer on pricing!

I was worried about using Disney Photography too. I've loved everything from Randy sooo much, but we've decided to stick with Disney Photography instead.

So I talked to my WP and asked her for some pictures by the Disney Photographer I'm scheduled to use. I'm going to check out her work and make sure I love it. She's supposed to send them to me next week. I can share them with you once I get them if you want! If you are thinking about that, maybe you could do the same with your WP.

I agree with the other gals too about it being easy to use a cheap program to get pretty pics. One of my co-workers is an amateur photographer and she spends a good chunk of every day at work 'adjusting' pictures so they look pretty. She says it isn't hard!

Good luck with your decision:hug:

I would love to see the pics she sends... thanks.

DecemberBride, I wrote out a lovely PM to you last night and when I went to post it I got a message saying the boards were down! :headache:

I promise I'll stop taking over your thread, I just wanted to say that I think your budget sounds very reasonable for the amount of time you want. So don't worry about that. Also, if you find someone you like and they don't offer a package that works for you don't be afraid to write and ask them if they'll do a smaller custom package. If they aren't booked for the day, many will accommodate you.

And in answer to your question, Karla cost me $3250 for 8 hours. :) I think her prices may have gone up, though.

Let us know who you decide on!

P.S. If you (or anyone else) would like to test drive Picasa you can download it here: http://picasa.google.com/download/
It really is a nice, easy to use tool for basic edits. It has nothing for more specific adjustments, though. More effects, color etc.

Ember, I'm still waiting to hear back from Karla... we'll see. I'm likely going with Christopher Patrick because I recieved a troubling review from someone on here about the photographer I was going with... Christopher is going to charge me $1000 for three hours, enhancements, B&W and color, all rights, all pics on discs... standard... It's a bit high price for me, but I get along with great and his wife is fantastic! I appreciate all your help on this, but it's still not over until I sign a contract... so we shall see! Thanks again!
