We had a site visit on our vacation earlier this month and I am really glad we did. I had figured we would choose Whitehall or another ballroom at the GF, but we ended up falling in love with the Living Seas Salon. We both love it (and it makes me happy that DF is so excited about it). However, it does put a kink my plans because I wanted to book Misty Miotto to do our whole wedding from ceremony to DP. Well, obviously that can't happen now. If I do the cheapest Disney package (according to Carrie's book) and the 8 hour Misty cd only package that puts me around 5k. I am kind of torn between doing that and just going totally with Disney and doing their 5k package that also includes the MK shoot. I would technically get more going with Disney (and I will end up using their videography as well).

Sometimes I see Disney photos that turn out great and then I see some that are so, so and then the occasional awful ones. I know in the end it is a personal decision. I guess I don't have a good feel for the work of the individual Disney photographers like I do with Misty. I was just wondering the thoughts of other brides on the subject. We are planning on April 2012 wedding so, plenty of time to mull it over but I would like book shortly after we get confirmation of our date in December. Thanks!!! :flower3:

I would book Amy again in a second if I had the opportunity!! Don't get me wrong, I loved Randy (Chapman) - he did all of our "out of park" elements. But MAN was I impressed with Amy! She was amazing, professional, and did such an amazing job on our shoot....seriously the photos turned out absolutely stunning...love love love her!

Good to know! I will check out your photos right now...

But isn't the issue more that you can't br 100% sure whom you will get no matter who uou request today or months from now? Disney has alot going for it but some of these DFTW quirks are just completely bizarre and leave no recourse for the consumer. That said, if the majority of my ceremony or events were in park, I'd go with DPS, cross my fingers and just keep an eye on the boards as we got closer to see who's pics I was digging!!!

I agree, I think this is the issue. Whilst you can request a specific photographer with DPS, you cannot be 100% sure who you will end up with. If you request (eg) Amy, she may already be requested or on vacation on your date.
As has been said many, many times on these boards, most of the DPS photographers are brilliant and produce stunning work, but some do not shine quite so much, and IMHO your wedding photographs are too big a deal to not choose your own photographer.

For us, we sat down and determined what was more worth it in the end....having a location we like with pictures that may not be amazing, or having a location we settled for just to get an outside photographer. We opted to do In-park because that is what we really wanted, and we went into it knowing that the pics may not be as great as some of the outside ones we saw, but they would be enough to capture the memories.

DH and I looked through all the pictures from DPS that were posted on here, and we made a list of about 5 (ranked in order) and we ended up getting the 1st and 3rd one that we requested. We ended up being extremely happy with our choice.

We had Joe and Regina, our pics are in my TR (link below) if you are interested.
