Photography Problems

We are having a very small (4 people) informal ceremony on a Saturday at Margaritaville, Citywalk, Orlando. Seems like every photographer I contact only wants the "big" weddings, because they make more $. Not that I blame them! I mean, I'd hate to take the photographer away from a 6 hour photo session, when all I need is a probably 1 hour max. I've emailed several places, and most I don't even get a response from....I feel like nobody wants to "bother" with something so small. Does anyone have any suggestions on someone that would take a small party like ours? I've already tried Randy Chapman and Misty. Guess i'm just a "small fish".

They do if you purchase one of their package deals through the resorts...but we aren't getting married at the resort.

I just spoke with a Nathan at Root, who was very helpful, and apologized for not answering the email. They are booked, but he recommended another photographer (thestudioishere.com). I will try them. I'm also considering on having Root do a "Just Married" (vs Engagement) shoot, later on in the week.

Did you call Randy Chapman?

I had him photograph my wedding (it will be 5 years in January) in Melbourne, FL (about an hour outside Disney). It was Disney themed, but not a Disney wedding and only 17 guests, at a relatives home.

He gave us a very reasonable price (and my dh is a photographer himself so we know we got a great deal).

Hi, I just read your thread and I have a friend in town who's a photographer. I didn't hire her for my wedding (because I wanted her to have fun) but her website is www.anordinarygirl.com - she does mostly portraits and artistic type shots but she might be available at a lower price. She doesn't have wedding stuff on her website but she's amazing. Here's some pics she took while I was getting ready for my wedding...

Hope that helps and gives you an option. I know she's shot weddings before, she just doesn't specialize in them. If you email her she might be able to email you some wedding shots.

I also say have you contacted Misty, she really enjoyed working with our wedding party of 12 people. And the smaller the group the more photos of the bride and groom

Thank you all for your suggestions. Misty, Randy, and Root are all booked for our May wedding day. However, I may be able to get Root for a "Engagement" type photo session for the next day (We will wear our wedding attire). I have to have the pics taken the day of, or the day after, because my boys will be flying home the following day. My oldest lives in New Hampshire (I live in Missouri), so it's not like we can take photos after we get home. That makes this even more important, I'm not sure when we'll have the opportunity for another family photos.

Yeah that sounds great! I'm going down for my planning session at WDW hopefully the day before my bd (May 16) so I'll be around down there.
