OK - I'm back with a few more to add. There just hasn't been the opportunity to do much winter photography here..!!
Anyway, here goes -

(This little guy was on the railing of the boarwalk at Coolum Beach - it looks like he only has one back let, but there is a 2nd one there - he was resting it at the time!! )

(Someone) Waving at me – When I was taking a shot of the last steeple, these guys stopped in front of the camera as a joke. I took a picture of them in response and I figured this was Gen Y’s idea of Waving at me!

My luck at having the camera in place for scavenger hunt items seems to holding back in Oz….

The second Monday in March is usually a public holiday in Melbourne. Ostensibly, the official public holiday is stated as Labour Day; but as any true blue Melbournian can tell you, it was really the Moomba long weekend party.

Moomba is an aboriginal word that….best we can work out….means “Lets all get together and have fun!”. Celebrations are held along the Yarra River that runs through Melbourne and pretty much kick off on the Friday all the way through to Labour Day (Moomba) Monday public holiday.

Aside from the standard carnival rides and food stalls, the other Moomba activities include DragonBoat Racing, Waterskiing, Birdman Rally, cultural events, Fireworks and a Parade. I took the opportunity to enjoy the festivities and managed to snag these scavenger hunt items.

Thanks Heather! I was actually setting up for the fireworks that was on offer that night. Not sure if you noticed but there are some pontoons on the water and I set up in front of them with every intention of getting fireworks and the cityscape. Sadly, my particular set of 3 pontoons were pesky and they wouldn't get into the proper position. They decided to set off the fireworks from the other 3 or 4 sets of pontoons along the river....and the ones I was positioned in front off....stayed dormant!
