Photography Board Summer Assignment, 2010: Scavenger Hunt

This set are replacement photos….no extra points claimed.

Cigar Store Indian* !!!
There are 37 Cigar/Tobacco shops listed in the Telephone directory. I visited about 9 or 10 of them to find the Cigar Store West Indian and the picture of the Cigar Store Indian.

Silly Me! Turns out I was stalking the wrong category. I found this specimen this week….

PrincessInOz I love your tenacity!

Thanks....but I think you mean my blind obsession for posting something against every category :rotfl2:!

I've been very lucky with some of the categories and being in the right place at the wrong time; or the wrong place at the right time.
I found the bagpiper today by pure chance....don't you love the leather look?

The categories of Needlepoint and Craftsperson at Work comes to my mind :rolleyes1. Or...you could always stretch Attractive :rotfl2:

Hope your 'not' bunion is feeling better.

Too late for needlepoint as I didn't take a photo til the stitches were out. But that does remind me that I need to take a picture of some needlepoint.

I only took a photo of the foot so no craftsperson-hmmm....maybe I could take a photo of him removing the pin. Actually I don't think I"ll get the pin out until September so I think you're all safe!

Attractive is a real stretch for now. It still looks pretty nasty now but it looks amazing to me to see the foot with no bunion.

Loving all your photos and justifications! I noticed that leather kilt!

So, this weekend I may have thrown away my chances but it was well worth it. My beautiful wonderful wife of 7 years is turning 30 next week and I surprised her with a trip to Boston on Friday, just the two of us. She had a job interview Friday morning and when she walked in the door I told her there was a bag packed in the car and she had 10 minutes to think of anything else she needed and we were off. I did bring her pocket camera but I left my camera at home on purpose. This trip was about her, not my pictures. Of course when we got there I saw SO MANY things worth so many points :rotfl2: and after a few snapshots, her battery died:scared1:

Here's a few I grabbed........

Celebrity
I'm not good with who's who but they blocked off all of the outside dinning for an interview with this guy. The staff wasn't allowed to talk about who he was. If you know, please speak up!

That so funny! I haven't gotten around to posting any of my photos yet but I have been taking some. The Captain wanted me to get into the chair too! I declined but he insisted that at least I come into the cockpit and get my picture taken with him.

So - here's my pilot in the airplane:

Gotta love that airline. :goodvibes

LOL - apparently so. :thumbsup2

So tell us about your trip to Boston!

Tina isn't big on birthday parties and loves to travel, so I got her parents to watch the boys for us and I planned a surprise trip for just the two of us. Since we've only ever went anywhere one other time overnight without the kids, I didn't want to push it too long. It was just overnight but it was 100% perfect. We had lunch at PHL airport around noon and arrived in Boston around 2:30. Checked in at the Hyatt an hr later. Dinner was at 5 downstairs in the restaurant overlooking the water. I had some of the best chowder of my life but I decided the conversation was better than any picture I could ever take...even if it was going to cost me some points :confused3 . From there we took a water taxi to a Sunset Cruise I had booked. Our captain told us about all of Boston's Colonial history and it was extremely fascinating. After dark we came back to port and shared some touristy drinks in an outdoors bar. Water Taxi'd back to the hotel and we sampled some cocktails by moonlight at a private table outside.
The next morning I went out for a stroll before our flight home and it was so nice. Tina never even knew I was gone :lmao: We made it home yesterday evening to catch my Godson's birthday party. If we had more time, I would have loved to spend one more night. However, even though it was never a place we'd ever thought to visit before, it's definitely a place we will be back to visit again.

Gotta love that airline. :goodvibes

I do! I've flown with them 4 times in 2 years now and think they are awesome! Before that, never been on a plane that I can remember. I'm hoping that their policies stay the same, but I'm hearing rumors they may start charging for bags......

got a few more photos uploaded
