Photography Board Summer Assignment, 2010: Scavenger Hunt

When I took my dog outside yesterday morning, I saw this chipmunk just walking around my driveway. I ran inside to get my camera and he was still there.

When I saw him again about a half an hour later as I was backing out of my garage, I realized I could use it for another picture for the scavenger hunt.

Turtle My beloved Gaudi turtle all the way from Barcelona! Guarding all those precious envelopes...

The turtle - just curious - is it real? Is it painted? Do you have another picture of it? I've never seen anything like it.

pednurse I love your lightening and illusion pics. I tried to take some lightening pics last night, but they weren't "bolts" that you could see, just the sky turning white.

I will be staying out in Westhampton Beach this Friday, and I hope to get a lot of pics then.

Wow you guys have been busy .... It took me hours to read thru all the posts and look at all the great pictures and entries in the scavenger hunt. I figure its about time I get to posting some of the pics I have been gathering before I start losing them on my computer. Here is a few starters for me ... hopefully lots more to follow in the next few days.

A Autograph This a a pair of Bette Midler's pants that she donated to a American Cancer Society silent auction and I bid on them and won. They are framed and hanging on my wall. She signed them before donating them to be auctioned.

C Cigar Store Indian ..stopped in at the auction house where I work and to my surprise right inside the door was this guy standing ... I just had to run out to my car and grab the camera because I remembered it was on the hunt list

Actually I think it's just survival of the fittest at work. Most of the other chipmunks I see are usually scurrying from cover to cover, but this one was just wandering around the driveway for at least a couple of minutes. Here's another picture of him. The hawk had him just beyond the upper right corner of this picture.

Whoa! I guess that settles the idea of letting my little black hamster Gus run around the deck! (We have hawks circling the yard looking for baby bunnies!)

And speaking of hawks, we can't seem to get those right around here - in the first picture I thought it was a Duck! lol

So I guess you wouldn't like to see the "prize" my mighty hunter (aka Tucker the Corgi) got yesterday? He was the proudest pup on the planet. We try to skip the full circle of life though b/c the Corgi belly isn't quite up to that indulgence.

Thanks! I took a good 20+ pics before getting that one of the lightening bolts...and once I got it I took cover! lol The other pics were just making the sky look like daylight. I took the pic of the mural just because I thought it was cool....didn't dawn on me until later that I could use it for the scavenger hunt! Good luck with your lightening pics!

Probably not a good idea! We used to have some acreage and I had my pug outside. There were 10-12 vultures hanging around, some sitting on top of the house and some circling around above Oscar. Every time he would move, they would move their circle so that he was always right in the center of it! I can't imagine that vultures would attack a live animal, but it was creepy and I took him inside.

I realized I had another picture for the scavenger hunt.

The turtle - just curious - is it real? Is it painted? Do you have another picture of it? I've never seen anything like it.

The turtle is porcelain with tiles on it to represent Gaudi's mosaic work. Its actually the first photo I've taken of my turtle! Will take a closer one when I get to work on Monday.

And by the way, I've really enjoyed looking at everyone's photos. Took a while...but there are so many beautiful shots. Really inspiring me to improve.
