Photography Board Scavenger Hunt, Fall, 2012

In NorCal right now.

I had 1 day in DLR and it didn't quite go to plan. But I think I managed RSR, World of Colour and Aladdin during that time. It was pretty busy at the parks and the queues were crazy'ish.

Oooh - nice!! I know what you mean about DL being busy!! I was there for 3 days and it was BEDLAM!!! I've never seen anything like it! Still managed a few things, but not as much as I thought I would. (Let's put it this way - there was an incredibly crazy queue for the riverboat on our last day in DL..!!!

I am so excited to see something from the outside world! Great pictures everyone! Today is the first day I have service on my cell phone, And i am posting this from it. I am on day 8 without power, and no end in sight. They say 90percent of Long Island should get power back by tomorrow , but we still have wires down a few doors from us and we were told they ran out of poles. I have a bunch of pics to post, but until I have Internet & electric I can't. Things are really bad here & Sandy wasn't even a hurricane! I loved seeing the new posts!

Oh Twigs! That sounds so bad for you guys! I was in Orlando as Sandy went up the coast and we watched her progression northwards. I feel so sorry for everyone in your area. Please stay safe and keep us informed as you can. Pictures can wait for a few days I'm sure.

Thank you for the kind words! We were safe and fine, just inconvenienced. Lost power for 12 days, we have had a genenrator for several years now so we didn't lose food and we had heat. I really feel for the thousands of those who still have no power and for those who lost their homes and all their possesions with the tidal surges. There are still about 113,000 homes without power here on LI.

Thanks to this convoy of Electric Co. trucks from Colorado and the Aspludh trucks from Indiana, I am no longer waiting to get power back!

Gas lines were a common site up until the gas rationing went into effect 2 days ago, this one was over 4 miles long!

And my last "Result of Gusty Wind" another very common site broken utility poles all over the place. this one is still like this and is in one of the areas not supposed to get power back until Thanksgiving

I had specifically targetted Lemos Farm at Half Moon Bay because it was the only place I could think of to give me this category.

Another one for my twisted sense of humour. Harvest (The Spooky one is sitting on top of a harvester!

Down the road from Lemos Farm is a favourite haunt of mine.

Perfect to check out the local Harvest.

When I was in the area in 2009, I enjoyed heading here for another hunt category. Whilst it was a couple of days past Halloween, the remnants will still around.

Apple Picking was a source of amusement for me. Both of these were found at the Golden Gate Park in San Francisco.

And in the same area; in the de Young museum grounds.

Also at the Golden Gate Park...I found me a very curious Fox squirrel that kept looking at the camera as if it was food. I suspect that if I had put the camera down it would have been fodder for this Scavenging Squirrel.

Okay. Maybe scavenging is a stretch. But not this Black Squirrel. Found him along the Back Bay area in Silicon Valley.

Really stretching the boundary on this one.

This was inside the Cantor Arts Museum. It's a Rodin bust...er....Skullet. And before you protest; just remember that the last time a Rodin statue went on sale (in 2007), it sold for $20Million. At least I posted a priceless Skullet!

And in keeping with the Halloween theme. This Skullet was also inside the musuem.
