Awesome! Gotta love the retrievers. We have an incredibly sweet 8 year old yellow lab who will retrieve a ball until she drops dead, I'm convinced. I'm going to try to dig up some pictures of her to post (haven't taken any of her in a really long time).

We're also getting a female Siberian Husky pup this weekend so I'll have plenty of pictures of both of them next week.

Same here with our golden retriever and our chocolate lab. They have a toy called a Kong Wubba (well actually 3 of them) and they will fetch it until DH and I are too tired to continue throwing it around for them. They're great doggies...pains in the butt sometimes, but great regardless.

Can't wait to see some shots of the new pup!!

Here is our 8 year old yellow lab, Sadie. She is the absolute sweetest dog I have ever met in my life and her favorite thing to do in the whole world is... you guessed it... RETRIEVE! (please excuse the gray snow... haven't had a chance to fix these in pp yet)

My choc lab HATES to retrieve anything! She'll swim until the cows come home in some of the muckiest, smelliest, coldest water anywhere but don't bother throwing anything in anticipation of her getting it. She'll just watch it

Our chocolate lab Rocky is very similar. Mickey, our golden retriever LOVES LOVES LOVES to fetch. Rocky on the other hand, loves to watch Mickey fetch and then try to steal the Kong from him and proceeds to play "keep away" with me and DH. It's a funny little act to watch.

Our chocolate lab is "special" in so many ways you wouldn't believe. He won't climb the living room stairs, he's scared to death of being brushed, if you try to squirt the hose at him he bolts whereas our golden loves the water...so this non-retrieving behavior is really to be expected from him.

Our lab is also scared to death to climb the stairs in our house. She's also deathly afraid of walking through tight places, but her favorite place to sleep is under our coffee table . She also barks at the wind blowing (seriously). Yep, her strangeness makes her a perfect fit with our family.

Our choc. lab will fetch, but then drop it wherever she feels fit - generally a few feet in front of us. Yeah, great retriever! We often run her in parking lot behind our house when it's empty and when she's tired of fetching the ball she will bring it to a storm drain in the lot and drop it down there. Needless to say, we buy tennis balls by the case! She also would live in water and swim all day, but show her the hose or the bathtub and you'd think she just saw a ghost! Strange idiosyncrasies these labs have, but you've got to love them! If you really want to get yours to go up the steps, coax her with food. Ours was deathly afraid of the vacuum, but then we started giving her a treat if she put up with it so we could vacuum her, and now she will actually come over when she hears the vacuum in the hopes of being vacuumed and then given a treat! She will do anything for food - I swear you could probably do surgery on her without anesthesia if you just hold food in front of her!

OMG I thought it was just our dog. I'm not kidding---our chocolate lab I swear is claustrophobic. If the dining room chair is too close to the wall and he needs to get through he will get all nervous and whine but will NOT walk through, no matter what. I guess all labs are just "special", but if he wasn't so goofy I don't think I'd love him half as much. He's tons of fun.

Our lab will chase it, get it, and bring it about 1/2 way back (on average) before getting distracted by something else. Takes after his da...

Hershey hates baths too! She loves water when its a river, lake, pool...even a mud puddle or swamp but if she's sees me running the bath she goes the other way.

We picked up our Siberian Husky yesterday . No sooner had we gotten her home, that I pulled the camera out and started snapping away (but only for a few minutes... that's all I could stand before I wanted to roll around in the grass with her ). We named her Nali (short for Denali... the park in Alaska, not the GMC trucks). Here are a few that I wanted to share:
