We had a crazy amount of rain the other day and the neighbors pond filled up with water (it's usually just a dry hole in the ground).


Jonas goes swimming!!

Griffey LIVES for the water!!! I think that swimming is probably good for his old man hips too!

Such a happy boy!!

Kacie doesn't share her brothers love for swimming...she will only wade while the boys swim around!!

Here are my furry kids.

Rayne. She's a bit of a nut, and no this photo hasn't been edited. That's her tongue. I think she was trying to start a snowball fight?

My old girl Cagney. Awesome, intelligent dog. German Shepherd/Blue Heeler mix. In her younger (thinner) years she was quite the competitive agility dog.

Giving kisses to the little nonfurry one.

I am so glad I found this thread! I have been up way too late tonight looking through everyone's pics and they are adorable! I didn't want to leave any dog in our house out so I wanted to post our newest addition. Celie is a 3 year old french bulldog I found in a shelter 4 hours from my house. She was left there to either be put to sleep or adopted because the previous owner/breeder couldn't take care of her ear infections. We brought her home, had her allergy tested and just changed her diet. Voila! New dog, and her ears are just fine now.

This is what she looked like when I found her online. Poor dog had ribs sticking out and had a skin infection over at least 75% of her body. If you look close you can see her ear is almost swollen shut, the shelter told us she'd need surgery to have her ear canal removed, thankfully it wasn't needed. You can also see how swollen her feet are from the infection.

The day we brought her home. Her little bulldog butt checking out the neighbor's yard.

Enjoying being on a soft chair instead of a metal cage for the first time in at least 3 months. I have no idea why no one had adopted her before we found her, but I'm glad they didn't! Here you can see her black skin, which is infected on the inside of her back leg and again her swollen little front feet.

This past easter. She's come a long way since then even. Although I do wish her potty training would be going a bit better! Although if you notice no infected black skin and her feet are finally normal size! Amazing what one allergy test and a different food can do!

What a great thread. I have tons of pet pictures, but I didn't want to post too many all at once.

This is one of my 3 Dachshunds. He is an Isabella dapple named "Herbie".

My kitties get attacked with the camera fairly often.

Gambit, my oldest and biggest kitty. He's a 20 pound scaredy cat made of love and lazy. He's one of those cats who looks perpetually annoyed.

Gadget, the diva. She rules the house and everyone knows it, including me and the hubs. She's a total daddy's girl and loves Ryan more than anybody in the world.

Tex, the ninja. She likes to lurk in the shadows and attack me as I walk by. She's also known as Texicat, Tinycat, Minion of Basement Cat and of course Ninja. When she's not trying to kill me she's the sweetest little thing, and loves to rub her face on everything.

Rose is one of my kitties that aren't mine. She belongs to the people across the street, but spends more time at my house than her own and I love her just like she was mine. She's the sweetest cat I've ever met, and loves being held which suits me just fine 'cause I love holding her.

And last but not least, Charlie. He's my other kitty that isn't mine. He's a stray that the neighbor and I take care of. I'd love to take him in but Ryan says three cats is enough. He's ridiculously playful and really expressive.

Crazy dogs...

Jonas loves this thing...it's the leftover string that was wrapped around a round bale of hay and he shreds it and runs around with it every time we go out in the pasture, so I leave it out there for him.

Griffey looks so happy in these pics it just makes me smile!

Surprise baby! My parents have a small flock of free range chickens and this summer had to put their old rooster in a pen to keep him safe from the new young rooster on the block. Feeling bad for him being alone they put an old hen in with him. A few months later.....

The same rooster that a year ago protected his girls from my 90lb lab.....

He was one tough bird in his day and has come back from near death a few times.
