Hey guys,
So i need help choosing a photographer!
Its the most important choice to me, and im having a horrible time deciding.>>me all night obsessing over ligting and poses lol :surfweb:
Theres diffrent things i like about each of these photographers. I wish i could combine them! Tell me who your favorite is, or if youve used one of them, share the pics and details!!

www.rootography.com (if you go their blog you can click on instaproofs and see alot of actual weddings they did) i LOVE how artsy they are.

I looked at rhett and was going to go with him but we decided on misty miotto instead as we really like her work

I picked Rootography because:

1) Quality of their photography: no blurry, under-lit, misframed or overly Photoshopped pictures

2) I LOVE their natural, photojournalistic style. The posed shots don't look cheesy or fake

3) They are REALLY nice people and so much fun to work with

4) They tailored a package to meet our requirements and budget

5) I can have all my photos on DVD and own them

6) Waaay cheaper than Disney

I guess we're not making it easy on you, Laura, by all voting for different photographers. But on the other hand, it sounds like any of them would be a great choice!

Have they done a lot of disney weddings before? Do you have to get an escort for them to go around disney property with you?

Disney no longer requires an escort for non-Disney photographers! :thumbsup2

The Roots have done a LOT of weddings, and they are huge fans of the parks. They are just starting to shoot Disney weddings. When we met Nathan for our engagement shoot at Wilderness Lodge and the Polynesian, you'd have thought he'd been doing photo shoots there for years - he found a lot of great places to snap pix!

I LOVE root I really do,
your engadgment pictures are what made me look into them( i was lurking on your pj! :rotfl: ) i love it by the way.
Annnnyways
my fiance and I are both artists and we love their style, the only thing is I do still want a few of the traditional style pictures also.
So i dont know what to do!
eep.
did i mention im the most indicisive woman on the planet.

Oh - they take traditional portraits too! See!

They will do whatever you want them to do - no way would they impose a photojournalistic style on all your pix if you didn't want it. And they aren't like some "artiste" photogs (no one mentioned on this board, of course) who only do wacky Photoshopped-to-death artsy stuff. And the bonus is, their portraits are a little more interesting than the standard grip 'n' grin ...although there is a whole lotta grippin' and grinnin' going on in that photo of us :rotfl:

I have to put in a vote for Misty Miotto (even though she is on on your list...I feel a sense of loyalty to her...haha) She did our wedding and i really loved her, she isvery artistic and not afraid to take chances. But also, she is very personable and does great tradional photos too. I have bunch of pics on my TR and more on the way!

Good luck with who ever you choose!

A big vote for Christopher Patrick Photography :)

They were amazing to work with and their photographs can't be beat in our opinion!

Hope that helps! :thumbsup2

My DF and I are going with Randy Chapman. Originally we were going to go with Rootography. Without going into details, things fell through and I booked Randy as a backup plan. I'm glad I did! Photography is one thing I'm not willing to risk not having come my wedding day. It was one area I didn't think I had to plan since I have been friends with the Roots for years. Oh well, lesson learned.

While the Root's have done tons of engagement sessions at WDW they have not yet shot a WDW wedding. I was nervous about that but willing to give them a chance. We did two shoots with them at Disney before things fell through.

I did look at Misty Miotto though and loved her examples. From the thread I also really liked Rhett Pyle's pictures of Sunshine.

Good luck!

I think my wedding in 3 weeks will be their first Disney wedding. I'm sorry to hear you had a problem with them - I know it can be tricky to embark on a professional relationship with someone you've been friends with a long time. :)

Everyones photos look great,
I only live an hour and half from Orlando, so I decided the only way im going to be able to choose is to meet with them all. Is this crazy? lol my df thinks im going a little Overboard... but my grandfather owned a portrait studio so did my uncle and ive just always had a passion for photogaphy, its so important to me to make the right decision.

SoOoOo
This saturday were going to meet with Rhett Pyle, Then on Sunday were meeting with Eric Dean. The next weekend were meeting with Gary Fox and im trying to set up something with The roots!
I really love root from what ive seen, right now im leaning towards them but i wont know for sure for a few weeks i guess.

thanks guys for all your input!!

That's not crazy - that's what brides are supposed to do! It's just that all of us who don't live near Orlando have to kind of decide on the fly.

Most of the bridal websites have checklists of things to ask your photographer - if you take one to each meeting to make notes on, it'll help you keep track of all their services and compare them.

Have fun!

Lurkyloo
im google-ing for thoes checklists now lol.
Thats so exciting you only have 3 weeks left!
The weather here in Florida right now is perfect. Its not too hot (high 70s) and its been nothing but sunshine lately! Jan-Feb are my favorite months weather wise.
I cant wait to see the pics from your wedding!

I LOVE your weather report - can you make it sunny on Feb. 4th please? :rotfl:
