Photographers in the Parks?

Just wondering if there are photographers in the Parks who will take your picture and then you go somewhere a few hours later to see if you like the pic and maybe want to buy it?

We have a theme park close to us and they offer this service - you can get the pics in a little viewer, on a t-shirt/mug etc. It's a nice little keepsake.

Yes, as soon as you enter the parks-well walking away from entrance, there are several people standing there waiting to happily snap your pictures. They give you a number and you can go back later that day. You can also get shots on some of the rides like Splash Mt. and Buzz. :wave2:

They also do this w/ some of the characters as well. Mickey Mouse almost always. Then sometimes w/ Cinderella, Sully and/or Mike, Buzz and/or Woody to name a few. I think I've also bought them w/ Pooh, Piglet and Tigger. I love the pictures the take for you. I have a whole wall in our home office filled w/ nothing but them!!

Yes, they offer the service, but they make it "magical."

One of the photographers took our niece's photo (by herself) in Epcot and he had her hold her hand out during the photo. When we went to view the photo, they had placed a Micky Mouse in her hand.

Then we got a group photo in MK with the three of us (DH, DN and me). My husband had his hand out in that one and he's holding Tinker Bell. Our families got a kick out of that one since DH is not into the Disney magic. He was for the trip with our niece though.

I think it was $16.95 (+ tax) for a 5x7 with either two wallets or four. Can't remember exactly.

When we were at MGM last month, our kids had their picture taken with Buzz and Woody. Then later our whole family had ours taken with Sorcerer Mickey. Both times we got claim checks and were told the pictures would be ready in 90 minutes. On our way out of the park at the end of the day, we stopped at the Photo Store, previewed our pictures and made orders. The pictures were ready in just a few minutes and there wasn't a long line. It was nice to be able to get both pictures at once.

I budget a LOT for those. It's the only way DH and I ever get in a picture together. I'm sure I'll spend even more when we take my little Sammi. Must start saving for pictures only now.

Here is our MK photo for this year. They also got one of us in front of the ice cream parlor with my dd "holding" Tinkerbell.
At EPCOT, we got one taken in front of Spaceship Earth and it turned out really good also. I did not like the one at MGM, however. We tried it three different times and it never looked good. That stupid hat always looked like it was about to crush one of us! We never saw the photographers at AK, either last year or this. Bad timing, I guess. Anyway, with the exception of MGM, I love the park photos. They are my favorite souvenirs.

Will the photographers be out when we enter the parks early for a breakfast PS? We have one for Crystal Palace at 8:15 on a non-EE day, and I'd love to have a family pic in front of the castle with no one around....

I'm not sure if they will be there that early or not but I'm sure someone will know the answer to that question. However, make sure you budget ALOT of $$ for the pictures. I had forgotten about that part and about lost it when I saw how much they were! There are cameras at several of the major rides like Splash Mtn, Tower of Terror, Dinosaur, and more. Also as you come into the Parks there are photographers everywhere. We purchased the pix at Splash Mtn but none of the others. I just couldn't justify paying $10 and more for all of these shots. However, now I wish we had bought at least one of the pictures at one of the parks. Out of 18 rolls of pictures I brought home, I have only 2 pictures of DH & I together and they were taken on the beach when we stopped at Ormond Beach going home. Needless to say this is NOT one picture I'll be sharing w/many folks! I have said many times before if the pictures were a little more reasonable, I'm sure i would have bought more than just one. Remember, they will send the pictures back to your resort after you order them so you don't have to pack the pictures around all day w/you. I LOVE that part!! :smooth:

I'm looking to get a family picture taken for our Christmas cards. Do they do big packages? Is there a copyright so I can't have duplicates made? Otherwise I'll find someone to take our picture with our digital camera.

I've read that most CM's (not sure about the actual photographers) will take a pic for you with your camera as well. I plan to ask, can't hurt!

I always ask them to and I haven't had anyone say no yet :) It worked out really well for us last time because the photograph that the CM took with his camera didn't come out (or was lost). I didn't feel too badly because we had a copy on our camera!

We got a great picture this year during our last day in the parks. We followed the Epcot character bus at park opening and took pictures with all the characters, including Mickey. A professional photographer also took our picturewith Mickey, and it turned out so good, we ended up buying it.

An aside-- this is a good time to meet characters at Epcot-- you'll have about 10-15 minutes until they leave, and the waits are pretty short becuase everyone else is madly dashing toward Mission: Space or Test Track. :)

In Feb. DH and I took the 8:00am "Keys to the Kingdom" tour at MK. While waiting for everyone to arrive I went up in the train station to take photos of the castle. The only people in the photo's are the CM photographers!!! So they should be out at 8:15 to take your photo.

The character escorts are happy to take your photo with your camera. Just make sure you have it set when you hand it to them. CM's have often come op to me while I was taking a photo of my family and asked if I'd like to be in the photo. We were also approached by a photographer in AK. There was a little alcove with the tree in the background. He took a photo with his camera and then one with ours. It was a great shot. Nothing in the background but the tree.
