Last night a friend brought over a photo book she had done from photopass from their Disney trip 3 years ago. Wow...totally amazing. Not only does she have these amazing pictures, but they are in this beautifully Disney themed album with character borders and background paper . It was even delivered to her in Canada.

My understanding is that is no longer part of Memory Maker, but is this still an option? She had so much fun creating it and its a wonderful keepsake. I do see an album in the photo pass products for 19.99, but am guessing this is a blank album and not the creative one I described.

Yes this is still available. It's called Disney's Photo Book. It's a beautiful keepsake. We did one in 2012, there was a special offer and we could get the book at a cheaper price with the prepurchase of PhotoPass (as it was known then)

I'm not sure if they still offer the photopass photobook, but you can get a book from blurb or shutterfly for a lot less money.

They still have the book listed on the site for $79.95. The other sites might be mess but there will be on Disney borders or stickers

Yes, it would be over and above the $149.99. It's one of the products available for purchase using the photo pass photos. Here are products that you can get from Disney using your photos:

You can also make photo books from other places like shutterfly, snapfish, Walmart......

Yikes...that's super expensive then to create a photo book for $79.99 ontop of getting the MM. Thanks for the info. A shame this is an additional cost now.

A few years ago I made an 80 page book with blurb.com for $45 (including shipping.) The same size book from Disney would have been about $200. The quality of my book is nicer than than the ones from Disney, too.

Snapfish also has Disney licensed images available for photobooks.

I am doing 2 Disney photobooks right now, and I looked at what Disney had available, as well as snapfish, and TBH neither one really wowed me (esp. Disney when considering the price). So instead I'm doing mine through shutterfly. I'm finding I'm still able to make pages that reflect a Disney feel without using licensed Disney images. And for any Disney image I absolutely feel the need to include on a page, I have a *ton* of the Disney dimensional stickers from Michael's/Joann's, so I'll leave a space in the book and put the sticker on the page when it arrives.

OP - just some other options for you to think about :)

It has always been an additional cost. We have been making the Photobooks every year for the past 5 years. It has been the same $79.95 every year. That was on top of the old Photopass cost as well.

It is. I used to do a lot of scrapbooking, and I did two Disney books in the past. I would like to do another one when I get back. Actually, it's not exactly inexpensive to do a really nice scrapbook either, but I like the creative outlet, plus I have tons of craft paper and other products that I can use up. I will just buy some Disney stickers at AC Moore or Michaels. Or, I may just be lazy and try and order one of the less expensive books. I have never made one of those before. Never heard of the blurb.com, going to check that out now. Thanks, Alesia.

Snapfish also has Disney licensed images available for photobooks. t :)
This is interesting. I use winkflash (during a sale) for a yearly book every year. About $25 But I started doing this because of the disney book. I use photoshop elements to make each page rather than use their page sets.

2 things.... Make your photos quite a bit lighter than you think because they'll print darker (I usually do about 10% lighting or so.) I was disappointed with my Disney book because of this.

also does snapfish have the backgrounds and frames and stuff? I may switch to SF if so.

I did a book from Disney for our 10th Anniversary, and while it is a great keepsake it was too expensive for our family to use. I use another online service (I happen to use Shutterfly just because I started there). The Disney one is 8x11 and 20 pages (that was our base book). I have 2 Disney books from Shutterfly - 12x12 with 111 pages in each (and I STILL didn't get all my photos from the trips in them).

Another thing I love about using Shutterfly (or really any of the others) is that they keep the photos and the final books online and I can re-order them if something happens to them. My Disney anniversary album I can not.

I do miss the fun embellishments and pages though of paper scrapbooking. I also miss the fun page options that Disney has available with their books.

You also don't need to have purchased the photos to make a photobook. You can do it by just showing up and taking photos. They ran a special like 4 or five years ago where you bought both but it's otherwise been the same price for a long time.

As far as Snapfish having Disney theme, I'm pretty sure you can't use any special deals when you do a book with the Disney theme. So I'm pretty sure if you do the Disney theme, then it is always full price, where as if you do other ones and add in Disney stuff, then you can use whatever coupon happens to be flying around the internet. Now I'm not 100% that Snapfish still does this, but a few years ago my friend was slightly upset because she spent tons of time doing a book in the disney theme on snapfish and planned on using a coupon and couldn't. Just something to think about.

Actually, you CAN use coupons/deals on Snapfish even if you use one of the Disney themes:thumbsup2 I've made 3 books through them so far. Used Disney theme for 2 and still got 50% off. If you go with a Disney theme or any of their other "special" themes (they don't call them special, I can't remember the word they use-maybe premium?) it's just an additional 3.99 I think. Otherwise their regular themes are free. They don't have the frames you get like with Photopass and I assume MM, but for 2 of my books I used our Photopass pictures after I'd added the borders so the borders are in the Snapfish book, along with the Snapfish Disney border.

I don't love their Disney choices either but they ended up being cute so glad I used them:) I just started doing a book on our August trip and they've actually added another theme that I like a bit better than the ones they've had previously. I did a book for our Thanksgiving trip a couple years ago and since most pictures involved the Xmas décor and EPCOT storytellers, I used a holiday theme rather than a Disney one.

Never heard of Blurb.com but going to check that out!
