The new A77 came in over the weekend and I love it! I've never owned a camera this nice and I can't wait to get back into photography. Below are a couple pics from my first time out yesterday. You can probably tell that I still have a lot to learn but, man did I have fun.

fractal - you probably (hopefully!) already know this, but wow, you are a really gifted photographer. Thanks for sharing!

Mike, was this an HDR or did you push the shadows and recover highlights all the way?

Hey Harry, I actually originally shot multiple brackets of this shot with the intention of running it as an HDR shot but when I saw this single shot I ran it like I normally do and was pretty happy with it. I ran some detail enhancer and pro contrast in Nik and and then did play around with the shadows and a few other setting in Lightroom. I might still an HDR version to compare it to later on down the road

I've mostly stopped doing HDR, especially if you can keep the ISO low. At low ISO, the A99 has so much dynamic range in the RAW files, I've found I can get just as much range out of the raw file, with far less need for HDR.

I go through spurts really. Ill give a photo a shot without HDR and if I cant pull it off ill run and HDR version to see if that will work out better.
