Congratulations!

I always get eager to post all of mine so I am never able to hold off and post one a day lol.

Congrats on the engagement! That sure has to be a memorable moment.....I look forward to seeing some more shots.

B&H is shipping out A99s BEFORE the Sony Store. Incredibly aggravating only because I want this thing so badly! :D

nice shot. plus you live in nyc? just take a cab or sub to 37 and 9 or go to the sony store by central park. I think just you order from sony they can transfer your order to the store if they have them in stock you could walk out tomorrow with it. The sony store in nyc is pretty good. they had the rx100 2 weeks before release, last time I was up there. If u really want it.

Man I got to take a nyc photowalk soon....

I've got a package arriving tomorrow :rolleyes1 :hyper:

Too bad I'm busy all weekend so won't get much of a chance to play with it - taking the A55 out for it's last trip tomorrow at the London Freeze Festival (snowboarding big jump competition in the middle of London) as I have to leave the house before it will arrive and then I'm off the the NFL Wembley game on Sunday (who don't allow DSLR's).

Would your package consist of an A and two 9's also? If so, I'm sure looking forward to seeing some shots.

Strangely enough - yes.

If the weather's good, I'll probably take it into work on Monday and see if I can take a shot or two of Portsmouth harbour - especially as I've got a tokina 11-16 that I can't decide whether to keep or not (it's meant to be a (pretty sharp) APS-C only lens but apparently it can be used at 15/16mm on a full frame without too many problems).

Did you order from B&H?

I'm very tempted to cancel my Sony pre-order and get from B&H next week, but by doing so I lose out on my discount, which I've been using to off-set the grip cost.

I'm UK based, so mine came from Wex Photographic - a far better price than Sony UK (Sony UK are asking £2479 for body only, Wex are asking £2598 for body, grip and 2 extra batteries).

Great pics all! Look like I am starting to lean towards the A77 instead of the A99. Mostly cost. The A77 upgrade will suit my needs just fine I think. I want to get the camera, couple extra batteries, and battery grip. A77 = $1700 +/-, A99 = $3300+/-

Keep seeing reviews and the A77 is higly rated by everyone.

Anyone have any imput o the F2.8 70-200mm lenses out there? Sony, Sigma, Tamron?

Thanks guys :)

$ im my big obstacle also when I comes down to what camera I get next lol. I picked up a Tamron 70-300mm f/4.0 DI LD used on Amazon for around $130 last year and its a decent lens. Better than the Sony kit 200mm I had

Mike, you shoot with the A55, right? I've mostly been shooting with the RX100, as my dslr is so outdated (A100). But it would be nice to have a more up to date dslr, so I'm thinking of picking up a used A55 body. Think I would regret it?

I dont think you would regret it at all. I went from using an A390 to the A55 and noticed a difference between the two. Its a nice camera and will be a nice upgrade for you without having to break the bank :thumbsup2

If I time an eBay auction right, I should be able to get a body for around $350-370. And I figure that should be a better upgrade than a new lens in that price range.
