A recent trip to Memphis.

Nice shot Greyhound! I would be a little cautious to take my camera down in that part of town! It's funny is that the Rendezvous restaurant entrance right there is down an alley that most people would NEVER think of walking down, but it's a fairly decent restaurant. I see you were there in the daytime. I'm about an hour away from there and a guy I know got mugged not too far from where you were at because he decided to cut through an alley at night.

I, and my family were walking around everywhere looking for it. We were "complete" tourists. I had my camera around my neck. I was texting people asking directions. And out of nowhere a "townie" who was leaning against a building looked over his newspaper and asked "you looking for Rendezvous?" We said yes, and he points down the alley. We were too clueless to be scared. It was quite an experience. It only got worse once we got into the restaurant.
That's funny! Yeah, when you start walking down the alley you're looking around thinking "WHAT am I doing???" And then you go inside and you're STILL thinking that!
But the food was alright. Being down here in the south and the heart of BBQ area there are better places than the Rendezvous I think for good ribs/BBQ but I think it's a place EVERYONE should try at least once. I'm heading over there in a few weeks for a Star Wars in Concert event and we are trying to figure out where we want to eat since we will be right there.
That is what I kept telling everyone. We need to do this once and be able to say we did it. I enjoyed the pulled pork sandwich. But, the ribs weren't that great. It was the worst service we've ever experienced. The OLD waitor seemed annoyed with us and didn't want to wait on us. It became funnier each time he came to the table. Let me know what is better. We enjoy Corky's, but realize it is a chain now. Where is better? BTW - we were with my BIL & SIL and she was large, pregnant, and loud. Did I mention HUNGRY! So, I figured she could protect us in the "shady" neighborhood.
