I had to go all the way to Page 3 to find the Nikon POTD thread .... all us Nikon shooters must be very busy lately. Here is one to bump this thread taken of this evening's first fire in the fireplace of the season.

Picture of my niece's daughter from Thanksgiving. First time I have been able to shoot someone of this age and really had fun.

Self portrait taken last weekend at the local state park. I was sitting on these big rocks watching the sunset when I noticed my shadow on the rock next to me. I thought it would make a pretty cool self portrait. Realizing I had the D40 with me I propped the D300 in my lap, pointed it toward the shadow and held the D40 up to my eye one handed so I could snap the shot with the other hand.
