A public shoutout to SrisonS. I'm a huge fan of his work. I'll be visiting Orlando from Fargo, N.D. next month and plan on taking a ton of pics at Universal. But his pic of Hogwarts at night is amazing.
I'll be picking up a canvas print of that shot regardless of how mine turn out.

Still using the kit lens at the moment.. but with a Disney trip next month I'm starting to figure out I'll need to upgrade by then. Any recommendations for a rookie?

I'd suggest something with a little more reach probably. For good walk-arounds, maybe look into the Canon 18-135mm (my personal choice), or maybe the 18-200mm.

There are plenty of options out there. Those were just a couple off the top of my head; one of which I have used. But Sigma and Tamron make nice, cheaper lenses too. And a good prime lens can be nice to have for the dark rides. I have a Sigma 30mm that i just love. But a lot of people really like the Canon 50mm f/1.8; plus it's only $99.
There are also othe threads about lens suggestions, some maybe check out some of those.
