I plan on my first solo trip in Jan. and want to have breakfast at Crystal Palace and dinner at Chef Mickeys. My question is will there be someone to take pictures of me with the characters?

Yes, the CMs are very helpful in that regards as well as other guests!!!

I went solo in Jan 07 and had a wonderful time. The CMs were very helpful in taking photos for me with the characters. Often, my server would make sure to be close by as the characters got closer to my table. Otherwise, the other guests are usually happy to help snap a photo or two. When I was at Chef Mickey's, Mickey himself actually asked one of the guests to help us with my camera, then he came back later to sit down and keep me company for a few minutes. That was *so* sweet... I "heart" Mickey.

CM will and sometimes other Guests. I offer to do that a lot when I am there. Especially couples and families. Its nice to do

Guests & CMs, all very helpful with pics...this is one that will be easy for you. My DW and I have more pics together at Disney locations then anywhere else on the planet. It's easy to get pics taken together by other guests or CMs then anywhere else you could possibly travel.
