I am wondering if we should pre-order the photo pass cd for our Dec. 18 - 27 WDW trip. Is it difficult to get good pics or pics at all using the photo pass at this busy time of year? We are bringing our own camera and I'm wondering if we'd be better off just taking our own pics and then if the photo pass photographers get any good pics just buying them. Also, if we do purchase the cd, can we upload the cd pics to our computer and then to a service like snapfish to have them printed? :confused3

Can you still order a CD? I thought the only way you could get a photopass now was to visit the website? Is this incorrect because I would really prefer the CD so I can print as many as I would like on my own...

Well, I made and attempt to order a couple of pictures, and needless to say, I didn't get what I ordered, and when I emailed them regarding this, I received a whole different answer than what I needed to do..the picture I ordered had Simba in my nephew's hand..other than that picture, that was the only one that I didn't get with my camera..mine were all better that the photopass...

If you plan to use the Photopass Photographers, then I think the CD is worth it. I always manage to find Photographers in the park, but sometimes you do have to look for them. The CD is still available both in the parks and on the website.

I wondered about Photopass also when we just went in August. It was our first trip in 10 years so I didn't know how the system would work. We decided not to preorder a CD and to wait and see how many good pictures were taken by Photopass photographers. We were able to find photographers all over. When we got home and checked out our pictures we really liked all of them. So we then ordered the CD and just paid the extra $25 for it. After I added borders and other things to our pictures we ended up with over 300 pictures on our CD. I think it was worth it!! I hope this helps.
GOOD LUCK!!

ok, let me see if I have this straight

I can get photos taken all over the park and have them put on a photo pass card.

When I want to purchase them I have have to buy the prints at Disney's price or have them put on a cd.

If I choose the CD route it is $99 and they are mine to do whatever I want with them. IE: print them anywhere I choose.

Am I understanding this correctly?

Thanks for your help!!

VikingsfanKT - you asked my exact questions! Thanks! Looking forward to a response!

GO PACKERS :) :) :)

As you can see we really havn't heard anything on this thread, although I did talk to someone, well emailed, and found out that I am right on. I was pleased to see that since I know I am purchasing the CD, that I can pre order it and save $25.

Go Vikings!!!:cheer2:  :cheer2:

I am working on my photopass pictures right now. I pre-ordered the cd in August for our September trip and paid $99. Now I have been viewing all of our photopass pics for the last couple of weeks. I have been able to add borders (very limited selection, but enough to make the pics cute), crop, change to black and white...
I started with just over 100 pics and have over 400 so far by adding borders etc. I am almost finished and will be ordering my cd tomorrow.
For us it has been worth it to get the cd.

yes you can pre-order and it is $25 less. I thought it was a little confusing, as you order then they send you an email with a code so that once you get back and put all your photopass cards in the account and order the cd, then the 'coupon email' will credit you for the price of the cd. Then you can print the photos where-ever and how every many times you like.

Wow, thanks, I am going to go for it and save 25!!!!

Yes, although $99 is the price you pay if you pre-order it.

I always preorder. If you don't get a lot of pics taken or if they are crummy, you can always get a refund. If you DO get it, then you have obviously saved $25. Either way is win-win to me...

(Go Vikes indeed! :cheer2: )

I am pre-ordering the cd this year. From what I understand from the photopass website: disneyphotopass.com/previsitcdplan.aspx, the cost when you pre-order is $99.95 which is a 20% savings, and it doesn't matter how many pictures you order (you can order 50 or 1000 for the same price...etc). You get all original images plus copies of any you have edited, including those with added borders and character signatures, and also the copyright release so you can print the images in the sizes and formats you want, or e-mail them to family and friends. Also, if after you upload the pics from your card and you decide that you don't really like any of them, you can get your $ back, as long as you e-mail them and request your refund within 2 weeks after the completion of your vacation. I have also heard that if you tell the photographers that you have pre-ordered the cd already they will take extra pics (don't quote me on that though). ;) Hope this helps!

So let me get this straight....You can pre-order the cd. Then go home view your pics and add stuff to them and they won't send the disc until you're ready for them to send it correct? I just want to make sure that if I pre-order it I will be able to add the borders and stuff. I'm planning or ordering the disc on Monday.

Yes, you are correct. We were at WDW on Sept. 8-9, we came home and saw our 63 pics (!) and I edited them, added borders, etc. online. (FYI...I ended up with 157 pics on the CD.) I then placed my order using my code. (Only one code per order, so if you have a separate discount code for prints, as an example, you would have to place a separate order OR just not use that code.)

The CD's are shipped by UPS and arrive in about 5 days. Totally worth it! :goodvibes

Thanks so much!

We have taken advantage of the PhotoPass CD and love it. When we first found out about it, we were already in Disney. We came home and ordered it rather than buy all of the photos we had taken in WDW. Now we just pre-order the CD. Whenever we see those brown vests, we stop and have pictures taken. We do family pictures, just the kids, kids separately, and even just me and hubby. We take full advantage of having the photographers around the parks. We always have our own camera, but unless someone stops to help us take a family picture, one of us is always missing from the picture. We have printed out what we wanted from the CD and even used a few pics for Christmas cards. I like now that you can add the borders to the pictures before you order the CD. When the CD first started you didn't have that option. If you really take advantage of the Photopass photographers, the CD is well worth the money.

My question is what if we wanted 1 or 2 family pictures and not wanted any more than that. Do we still have to buy the CD before we have pictures taken? I have a son-in-law who has never been to WDW and to have a picture of all of us would be great. I am trying to get last minute advice, we are so excited, But I really would like 1 or 2 professional photos of my family.

Thanks:banana:
