Hi - We have a Grand Gathering of 16 people (four families) going in September. My sister was looking into getting a Photo Pass and she said a friend said it was a good idea. I really don't know a lot about the Photo Pass and how it works, so any input is appreciated. Here are some of our questions...

-
How do we get the pictures on the card?

- When do I pay for the card and how much is it?

- What pictures can go on the card?

- Can we get one Photo Pass for the group or do we have to get four separate passes?

I guess in general, I need a Photo Pass tutorial.
TIA

Hi there - if you are referring to the normal Photo Pass that is offered within the WDW parks, those are free and you can usually get them from any of the Disney photographers you see walking around.

What happens is they give you the card, you carry it around with you for the duration of the trip. Everytime you see a Disney photographer, you can have them take your picture and then they scan the barcode on your code, which in turn links up to your own account on a website you are given to check the pictures at. The only pictures that can go on there are the ones that are taken by the photographers (I believe), not your own digital cameras, although they do have places within the parks where you can load your pictures onto a CD for a price (if you are running out of memory).

If your group plans to be with eachother at ALL times, one photo pass would be fine. That way if you want group photos, or if you want a picture of just two people from your group you can do that. However, if you decide to split up, you can get as many as you would like and then share your albums once you are home and order prints from eachothers.

Hope this helps.

If you are referring to the Photo Pass Photo Session at the resorts, I've got NO CLUE AT ALL :)

of course i encourage the use of the link above (thank you), but i want to underline something because I think PP gave the wrong impression.

the system supports multiple cards. one single account can support a virtually unlimited number of cards. in fact, cards stay associated with your account indefinitely.

Thank you all for your input. I will definitely check out the link.

So if understand this correctly, I can have a card, my sister can have a card, my brother-in-law can have a card, and so on - (basically unlimited number of cards) then all we do is get them all associated with one account and we can all print whatever pictures we want? If that is the case this is absolutely worth it. :cool1:

With there being 16 of us I am sure we will have a bunch of different cards from when we all split up to do our own thing. By dividing the cost of the pass by four, it is a great value.

I am going to go and look at the info on the link.

Thanks again for the help.

assuming what you're really talking about is the PhotoCD specifically, yes. you have the idea.

This is wonderful! I was talking with my sister and we definitely think this is somthing we are going to do. I appreciate all of the information.
Thanks again!

Do you HAVE to be IN the PhotoPass picture? If you just wanted a picture of the Castle at night by itself, will the PhotoPass photographers put that on your card? Thanks.:)

that's a really good question. the simple answer is yes, you must be in the photo. the real answer is a bit more complicated.

every photo that's taken is reviewed for content (not quality). for the most part, photopass images without guests are deleted. there are occasional exceptions like for example they will sometimes allow the photopass photog to take a photo of an icon when it's decorated for a special occasion because the system doesn't offer a stock photo version of it.

you may be able to get creative. if you know me, you know my stitch and I was surprised to learn that Photopass allowed images containing characters and my Stitch through during SWW. I normally don't try this (this is something the photogs did on their own) so I don't know if it was specifically for SWW or if they'll do it in general.

you can also try to get the photo set up so you appear in the image but will be able to zoom and crop the image to your liking so you can cut yourself out of it.

and of course you can simply ask the photog to try taking the shot for you, but expect it not to make it through. personally, other than stitch being in the image, i've had zero success with them allowing the photo through.
