Do I've been doing some research online and it looks to me like photo pass + is a better deal than regular photo pass cd(I could be wrong). I found this online:
“Once you arrive home from your vacation, you can view your photos and order a PhotoCD with all the high resolution photos plus a limited license"

Does anyone know the price of this photo pass+ cd?

The regular PhotoCD is $169.95 ($119.95 if you pre-order it before your trip via this link). The PhotoCD gives you all the photos taken by PhotoPass photographers. This is the traditional product that we're all used to.

The PhotoPass+ is a new product that they've recently started to offer that expands this traditional PhotoCD to add certain on-ride and dining package photos. You'll get all your PhotoPass photographer photos plus (for a period of up to 14 days) unlimited photos from:

  • Space Mountain
  • Splash Mountain
  • Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin
  • The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror
  • Rock ‘n Roller Coaster
  • Expedition Everest
  • Dinosaur
  • 1900 Park Fare
  • 'Ohana (breakfast only)
  • Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show
  • Chef Mickey’s
  • Cinderella’s Royal Table
  • Tusker House (breakfast only)
  • Hoop Dee Doo Musical Revue
  • Princess Storybook Dining at Akershus Royal Banquet Hall

Note: Test Track on-ride photos are still available for all PhotoPasses. This has not changed as a result of the introduction of PhotoPass+.

The PhotoPass+ package includes a special PhotoPass+ Card and Lanyard. Only the person with this special card can get free on-ride or dining photos. (You can still split up your group and add multiple PhotoPass cards to your account and add them to your PhotoCD, but only the group with the actual PhotoPass+ Card can get the special photo packages.) At the dining locations, the PhotoPass+ Card will get you the actual prints as well as a code to add the photos to your PhotoPass account. At the rides, you'll just get the download code.

The PhotoPass+ package also includes a CD of 400 stock Disney photographs. (Pictures of the characters and so forth.)

The price of the PhotoPass+ package is $199.95 if purchased at PhotoPass locations at the parks, Downtown Disney, and the resorts. You can also pre-order the PhotoPass+ package for $169.95 online at http://www.disneyphotopass.com/wdwphotopassplus.aspx. Allow 14 days for delivery of the package. (If you've already pre-ordered the PhotoCD and want to change it to the PhotoPass+, or if you want to pre-order the PhotoPass+ and your trip is in less than 14 days, call them at 407-560-4300 and they'll probably work with you.)

So the question you need to ask yourself when deciding between the two packages is how many on-ride or dining photos will you take advantage of. Purchasing these individually are usually in the area of $20-$25 per ride or $35 per dining package. It doesn't take many to bridge the gap between the pre-ordered PhotoCD price of $119.95 and the PhotoPass+ price of $199.95.

If you do the photopass should you still bring your own camera? trying to get different opinions from everyone

yes - how else would you get the pictures on the teacups & Dumbo
along with all of the other special moments
parade pictures of your family watching

the photopass is great for getting the whole family that way the person who is carrying the camera can prove they were there too

I’m having trouble finding information about it, but I thought I saw something about getting the photo packages for free if a certain number of people had a reservation at character dining restaurants like Chief Mickey’s.

Are the character dining photos included on the regular PhotoCD?

Do you have to pay extra for a PhotoPass private session?

Hoping this link works like I want it to!
http://www.disneyphotopass.com/photocd.aspx#
We know we will be wanting an additional copy of the CD for 19.95. Will that include all of the picture, including the ride and dining ones? Also, do I order it after the trip and all pictures are there from multiple PhotoPasses? I'm guessing the CD's will not include our own personal pictures we have loaded on to the site?

it only has the ones that photopass people took with their cameras
dining you will get the paper copy at this moment too (keep thinking that may change at any given time but since they already print it it may not)

there is also a stock cd that you get too which I can't wait to see

I purchased that stock CD a couple of years ago and there are some lovely pictures in there. :)

According to the Photopass facebook page, you can upgrade if you have already pre purchased the regular CD but you need to contact Photopass through their Contact Us link and give your details, such as email address you ordered from and the name your account is registered to as well as the phone number you used. You pay the difference between what you paid for the pre purchase and the $169

You'll get a receipt in each of the packages that will have a PhotoPass code on it. Add it to your account just like you add a PhotoPass card from a photographer. When you order your CDs, all of the Disney photos on your account will go on both CDs. I'm not positive, but I think you need to order both at the same time to get the $19.95 second copy.

You can get your CDs at WDW at any PhotoPass location, but I would recommend doing it when you get home. That way you'll have plenty of time to add special graphics and borders to your photos. You have 30 days to claim photos (enter the PhotoPass number into your account) and 30 days after they're claimed photos before they expire. You can add as many PhotoPass card numbers into your account as you like. They'll all be on your CD. (If you have more photos than will fit on a single CD, they'll actually give you multiple CDs in order to give them all to you. There's no extra cost if it takes them more than one CD to fit your photos. I've had as many as 3 CDs, but that was the trip when we hired a PhotoPass photographer for a private session.)
I'm guessing the CD's will not include our own personal pictures we have loaded on to the site?
Correct. The PhotoCD will have photos taken by Disney photographers only. Disney does offer a product called the Personal Photo Archive CD for $19.95. It will be a CD of the photos you uploaded to your PhotoPass account.

I was interested in having a private session with a photo pass photographer, but I was not sure how it worked. Is there an extra charge for this or do they just add them to your photo pass account in hopes that you will buy the prints?

I am also interested in the private photography session. It kind of looks like it is (was?) $150 for a 30 minute session, however I am wondering if they are changing things around. It seemed like for the Photopass + you got an extra 10 minutes because you have already purchased the disc.

Last night I was looking at the Pre-order site ($169) and now the link does not work. It directed you to the Disney events photography site for more info. Last night, the "regular" (non-Photopass) $150 session was 20 min & included a book of proofs. Today, the same site says that it includes a CD with all of your images! I hope they don't bump the Photopass+ down to 20 min.

Has anyone here had any experience with the private photographer? Was it worth it? Of course the phone number listed above is closed for the day :rotfl2: so I can't ask questions there.

I sure hope the link is working again soon. I would love to Pre-order. :cheer2:

Ours was several years ago, and we chose to do it at the Grand Floridian. I can't remember how long our session was, but I'm sure it had to have been more than 20 minutes. We took pictures in the lobby, on the beach, around the grounds, and near the boats. It was us and a family we'd invited to stay in our villa for the week. There were lots of "okay, now just this group" or "now just the kids" different shots at each location. I just counted and we had about 70 pictures from the session. Of course, all 70 weren't "keepers."

Knowing we were going to get the session, we all coordinated having khaki shorts and white shirts for the session.

Here's a sampling from our CD:

Great photos! Thanks for sharing.

BTW, the website seems to be back up wit the 30 min private session part deleted. The Events part where you schedule the private sessions do now say the small package is 0 min & includes a CD. So. I do think they have redone how they are handling the mini sessions. :sad2: too bod, I was hoping for a longer session by ordering the Photopass+

I am sure it will be wonderful anyway. :wizard:

Thanks BirdsOfPreyDave for the information and the pictures. I looked at the Disney Even Photography website. The only options for resorts with the mini portrait session are the Polynesian, the Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa and the Disney's Beach Club Resort. We are staying at Old Key West, so that won't work.

Sorry to hear that the web site is down DVC Daisy I was able to pre order the photo pass plus on Tuesday. I hope they are just modifying the site and have not discontinued the offer. If I hear anything I will post it here.

We weren't staying at the Grand Floridian, either. We went over for breakfast at 1900 Park Fare, then had our photo session.

I just wanted to let everyone know the site is back up and you can pre-order both the DVD and Photo Pass Plus at the discounted rates.

Hi all,

On the facebook page for PhotoPassPlus it says :

"Q. What happens if my Disney vacation is longer than 14 days and I purchase Disney PhotoPass+?

R. You can collect as many PhotoPass Photographer photos as you like on your Disney PhotoPass+ card, however only Attraction and Dining photos taken within a 14 day period will be included"

Do you think this means that we can still get photo's added to the account by regular photopass photographers after 14 days which will be on the CD when we order it after our vaction ?

Thanks,
James.

Yes, you have 30 days from the day a photo is taken to "claim" the photopass card by adding it to your account. (Note, if you're using a PhotoPass card you have from a previous trip, the pictures are claimed as soon as they're taken, since the card is already on your account.)

You have another 30 days after claiming a picture before that photo will expire from your account. So if you work it to the extreme, you can have 60 days worth of photos on your PhotoCD.

(It's expensive, but you can also purchase a time extension if you need to keep pictures in your account a little longer.)
