I've heard that if you order photo pass before you go that it's 20% off. First is that a true statement? If so does someone have the link to the site so I can order it?

Thanks
Steph

I dont know about the pre order thing but we only paid $59 for our Photo pass CD at the park before we left the last day. And they took 15% off the $59 because of our annual pass. They said the Disney Visa would have given us 15% off if we didnt have annual pass. We did not get borders at the park CD, that requires purchasing at home for about $129 I think and no discounts. They did offer us to purchase a photo package with the CD for $20 and it included borders. I think that package may have had 3 or 4 pictures in it. I didnt buy it so not 100% sure what it included.

Just remember that you can not add the borders and signatures to the 59.00 CD only with the online CD. When you make changes on the photopass website to a pic, you will have the original pic and the enhanced pic. For example, you may start with 50 pics but after enhancements you could end up with 500. The CD is unlimited so you can add and crop to your hearts desire and they will send you all the CD's that is needed to accommodate all of your pictures.

We did the pre-purchase and my daughter loved the enhancements that are available for your pictures. You can also download your own digital photos and enhance them as well and they will also be added on the CD. Besides borders, you can add character signatures, tinkerbell, labels like Calif Adv or DL on your pictures. It's fun if you like that sort of thing.

Hi, All. I just returned from our trip on Sunday and we purchased the CD in the park on our last day for $59. However, we added some other merchandise and used one of the 20% off coupons that was shipped with our park passes, so it ended up costing ~$47, which for the 80 pictures seemed like a great deal. I'm not a huge fan of the enhancements and I can add those myself later, so I was happy with the price. BTW, we looked at the pictures online before purchasing the CD to ensure we liked them and to reduce the time it took in the park to get the CD.

Is getting a photo pass worth the cost? How soon can you view your pictures? Are the people that take your picture hard to find? Any advice on this would be great!;)

Since there are several options and prices for the photopass, it depends on what you are looking for. The photopass photographers are very easy to find and they are all over both parks. They take several poses and will take as many pictures of the different people in your group that you want. The good thing is that everyone in your group can be in the picture since no one from your group needs to be the one to take the picture. You can view the pictures either in the park or from your laptop. We waited till we returned home before we saw them. With the pre-purchase, you do have the option to be refunded in full if you are not satisfied with the pictures. It is much cheaper if you buy the CD in the park. The only thing is that you won't have the option to enhance your pictures by adding the Disney graphics, borders or character signatures. So if you only want the pictures, then the way to go is to just buy the CD in the park for about $59. It does cost a little more if you want to be able to enhance your pictures by adding the graphics so it just depends on what you want. Lots of people have been getting together and sharing the cost of the CD since you can add more than one photopass card to one account so that's another option. Hope this helps.

Wow that is great that they offer that!! How much extra is it for the enhanced pictures? We dont have any family pictures so this could be a nice way to get some. Also I have seen others getting together to do the photo pass how does that work?

If you buy the pre-purchase CD (see the link I have posted above in an earlier post) for $99.95, it allows you to enhance your pictures taken in the park as well as your own digital photos. It doesn't cost anything to enhance your pictures. You just select any picture taken in the park and you are able to add borders, graphics, character signatures, etc. and save this picture as a copy and it will be added to your CD. Your original picture will remain on the CD. So you may start off with maybe 100 pictures taken in the park by the photopass photographers and end up with double that amount on your CD by adding the "enhanced" pictures. It's fun if you like that sort of stuff. My daughter loved being able to do this. Regarding photopass sharing, usually one person takes the lead in purchasing the CD and then asking others who are interested in joining in to help share the cost of the CD. The only drawback is that you need people who will be in the park about the same time as you because you only have 30 days to edit your photos before they disappear from the website. Also the lead person needs to make copies of the CD and distribute them to those that are sharing. That person will also give those sharing their account info for the photopass so that they will be able to see their pictures and enhance them too. It takes some planning and work on the lead person's part. Hope this info helps.

So you can do a photopass shared with someone that is there the same time as you are???? Thank you so much for your time and help!!

That's correct! We opted not to get into a shared group because we already had a big group (total of 3 separate families) so we just split it among our 3 families, which worked out well. You can get as many photo pass cards as you like and link them all onto one account (which is what we did). For us it worked out well because we are all related so it was so easy to link everything together. Also, we won't need to make copies of the CD because we'll just share the one CD since we're family. It's neat because you will own all the photos taken by the photographers and you can have them either printed at Costco or on your own computer. You can also order them from Disney but of course you will pay a lot more. You also have options to make a photo album, photo movie, post cards, etc. See the photopass site for everything that you can do.

I'm really looking forward to getting a photopass. I can't believe how many pictures we bought last trip at $12 ... this CD will more than pay for itself.

We were going to buy the CD this time but ended up getting dreamed with 5 free 5x7's. Which was about what I wanted anyway if I was going to buy the pictures separately. So be on the look out, I didn't know the dream team was passing these out. We got one for each person in our group (including my 9 year old!). So we got all those pictures for free, no tax or anything!

I have uploaded my own pictures to add to my photopass CD but I can only see how to crop and rotate them. How do you add enhancements like borders to your own photots?

You cannot add the borders/icons to your own photos. Not sure what the other poster was referring to. :confused3

Sorry about the confusion regarding the enhancements of your own digital photos. I got it confused with being able to add your own digital photos to the photo album that can be ordered through Disney through the photopass website. The photo album has the borders that you can insert either your own digital photo or the ones taken by the Disney photographers.
