Photo Pass price increase

Just activated my annual pass today and then looked to add photo pass.
Looks like the add on price has moved from $99 to around $185 before taxes.

Just wanted to share with everyone.

I asked first at guest relations and then thought maybe they made a mistake so called member services.

Update for those who stop at this post:
Photo pass still $99 but I bought annual pass before price increase so system was trying to add the $80 to my annual pass price in addition to the $99 photo pass.

Wow…well, that makes the 30 day pass we can get with the new MMB program a much better value for me..

Don’t need photo pass enough to have spent $185.

My thoughts exactly. Thankfully I did purchase our annual passes before price hike, just didn’t activate until today.

The $99 annual PhotoPass Downloads add-on is still available. I believe it can only be purchased at the time of purchasing your AP:

Today when you purchase an AP on the WDW website is still showing the photo pass available for $99.00. It sure sounds like the website (or individual) was trying to sell you the Memory Maker.

Thanks for clearing this up. It seems like the $99 is only if you do it while buying or renewing. If you want to add on after the fact this isn’t valid.

I’ll try calling again but heard $185 2x from different cast members for photo pass. One said initial $99 but checked and said there was price increase this week.

Website still shows $99 and not allowing me to upgrade from app, but in person and on phone they both said $185

I just got off phone and here’s the explanation.

Because I purchased sorcerer’s pass at $999 and trying to add on photo pass after price increases, the system is making me pay the increase fee for annual pass plus the $99 photo pass. So the $1079-$999 is the extra $80.

So photo pass add on is still $99 if paying increased annual pass fees.

Currently manager seeing if there’s a way around it.

Update: manager found a workaround and fixed it.

Glad they figured it out. I added my photopass after the last price increase and had the same problem, but as soon as I was able tp connect with someone knowledgeable, they "bridged" the pass to get me the $99 photo pass. I didn't think I'd need it, but three RunDisney races in the same year and it was cheaper than the individual photos.
