According to last weeks Allears news letter, you can buy all your photopass photos on a CD (with rights to print them) for $99. Can't shed any light on the movie bit though.

Per allears.net

The second new product is Disney's PhotoMovie, a DVD that combines your photos (PhotoPass photos and those taken with your own camera) with video scenes from the parks, as well as the characters interacting with the photos. The PhotoMovie DVD also includes a bonus slide show. Disney's PhotoMovie retails for $69.95, but is now available at the introductory price of $49.95; additional copies are just $19.95. (December 2005

Hope this helps :sunny:

This might seem like a lot of money ($99 for the CD), but in the long run it could be worth it.

I know of someone who just got back from WDW. She shared her photopass pictures. She's got 82 and many are really good. The cheapest picture was somewhere around $10. So if you think you're going to want a decent amount of pictures, why not just buy the CD? Then you can print as many as you want for yourself, grandparents, etc....?

I, personally, think I'm just going to go ahead and buy the CD. If I don't, I know that I'll just regret it. AND if I know the photographers are going to be taking pictures are meet & greets, etc.... (my friend had TONS of pictures from meet and greets), then I won't be using *my* camera as much, right? I know, some of you are saying that I'd be putting too much trust in the photopass thing and what if something goes wrong (I've read of a few people who had problems with their pictures).

I would love to buy our CD (close to 65 pictures). But where (how) do you do this? :confused3

I know someone that had 150 pics on their photopass.. would they have been able to make a cd.. how many pics will it hold?

This question I cannot answer yet - I'm going in early March. I plan on asking a lot of questions to the people taking the photograph or going to the "photo center" where you used to go and buy the pictures and asking a bunch of questions. Can't hurt, right?

I wish I could give more info, but that's all I know.

I think that I'll be buying the $99 CD with the pictures and hopefully my DH will agree to also buying the movie DVD, especially if it's only $49.95 at the intro price. :)

I got the movie DVD, It's really cute.. :cheer2:
You go to the web site and upload your pictures, and it will also bring up your photopass pictures.. They add wonderful music and film clips from the parks..

I think $49.99 is a OK price, But if and when it goes up to 99.00 I wouldn't do it..

I have been reading up on these for our upcoming trip - this is what I've learned so far, here on the Dis! ;) :woohoo:

1. The PhotoPass CD's hold up to 300 photos.
2. So far, they are only available at a shop in the Grand Floridian and Epcot -the Camera Center, I think. The CD's can't be ordered online (yet!).
3. The CM can add borders and character signatures, etc when you purchase your CD.
4. Once purchased, the CD can not be added to.

This is quite a new offering - it only started at the end of December. Knowing how much we spent on photos back in 2004, We'll definately be buying the CD later this year. I'm sure we'll buy the DVD, too! :teeth:

I made the Photo Movie for Christmas gifts this past Christmas. You do it all online and can add up to 68 (I think) of your own photos or ones from your photo pass. They make it into a dvd and add music , graphics, etc. The introductory price was $49.95 but is going up to $79.95. It's awsome - we just watched it again last week!

We just got back from Disney Tuesday night and I was just looking at my pictures including the ones from the PhotoPass CD that we purchased.

We ended up with about 60 pictures total. They are all fairly decent pictures and because I don't like handing my camera to a stranger to take a whole family picture, the photo pass pictures end up being the only ones that have all four of us in the pictures!

Considering that I will probably print out 4x6's of all of the pictures and probably enlarge a few to 5x7 or larger, paying $99 to have the CD is well worth it. Otherwise I would have spent a fortune in Disney to get even small prints of all of the pictures.

Someone previously said you could get the CD in Epcot and at the Grand Floridian....I had read only Epcot and MK at Toontown, which is where we got ours, so I don't know about GF. We were there about 45 minutes prior to fireworks that night and there were still 4 or 5 customers ahead of me in line. But the CM's were very helpful. They bring up all the pictures on your photopass so you can see them on the computer screen. Then the CM I had just started playing with different photos, trying out the borders and extras they can add. Some of them I liked and he kept, and others I didn't like.

Your CD ends up having all the original photos and all the altered versions that they might play with as you watch. So you can print whatever you want.

The CD also comes with a whole disclosure that you have to take to wherever you are having the prints made, saying you have permission from Disney to print the professional photos.

I have not decided whether to try making the movie or not, I'm still old fashioned and like my regular prints! But I was very impressed with the CD process and the helpfulness of the staff in having it done.
