I thought I posted this yesterday, but like so many other Dis'ers have reported, I could not find it anywhere.

I am looking for a great place to take our Christmas card picture next month. Is there a Christmas store at DTD, and are there any good spots there for a picture that might be "decorated"? Or, do you have a favorite spot in the parks? Haven't decided if I'll be doing just the 4 kids or include us parents, too.

Say " :teeth: "!

In DTD by the Christmas store if you walk around to the side (there is a fountain and restrooms out of one of the doors) you go past that and there is a statue of mickey and goofy I think and a banner like sign over the top that says Merry CHristmas. It is there all year round and is very cute. I dont have a pic and I Know those directions may not be the best lol but that is my suggestion.

As it sounds like you are going in October and Christmas decorations will not be up yet, I would suggest the Christmas Store in Downtown Disney if you want to make it look like the holidays. They sell santa hats with ears and last year I got a Minnie headband with ears, a bow and holiday decorations. If you don't want to purchase them, you can just put them on (or hold a stocking) and take a picture with one of the many Christmas trees in the background. There is also a section in Downtown Disney where they will put your pictures into a backdrop (near Guest Services I believe). Check there to see if there are any Christmas pictures (I thought I saw one where they put the family in a sled with Mickey as Santa. If you really want to get into the spirit, have everyone wear a red, white or green tshirt. I would also make it a "Family" picture and have everyone in it. After all, it is the whole "Family" sending holiday greetings. They also have Disney Christmas cards where you can insert your picture. Just make sure what direction you picture is going (landscape or portrait) when you match up the card with your picture.

We were down there last year for Thanksgiving, my boyfriends and I (in our 40's) and my parents at MVMCP. We had dinner at Liberty Tree Tavern and got a great picture of all of us in our red tshirts (me with my Minnie headband on and my boyfriend with his Mickey dressed as Santa tshirt) and Minnie Mouse all dressed up. I used these as our Christmas cards for relatives and friends that knew my parents. I had so many wonderful comments about this.

Have fun.

Inside the Christmas store, all the way in the back near the section where they do the monograming and personalization, there is a big Christmas tree completely decorated with a bench around it. That would be a cute pic for Christmas. As a matter of fact, I think I got a picture of my daughter sitting on it and it would be a cool pic for our Christmas card-thanks for the idea!

At MK, just outside of Liberty square on the path back to the castle, there is a christmas store. Next to it there is a building facade that has a permanent christmas look to it. A lot of people take pictures there.

Also, at MGM, just next to Mama Melrose there is a christmas store too. That one has a fake snowman outside that you can take pictures with. On Sunset Blvd, on the way to ToT, on the right hand side there is a store that sells christmas items and a large christmas tree in the middle. You could take a picture there too.

Another idea, WL has a huge fireplace that you can take a picture in front of, they also have a smaller fireplace in the gift shop. I don't know why, but seeing a fireplace burning always reminds me of winter.

Last 2 times I was in MGM, Christmas store and snowman were NO MORE as in GONE! I think they were taken out to make room for expanded streets of America and stunt show.

NOOOOO! My kids love the snowman!

I loved him too, it was fun "playing" in snow wearing shorts while everybody back in MI and OH was freezing there bottoms off. The store was closed on my October 2004 trip and tottally gone along with Snowman on my June 2005 trip:(

What a great idea!!! We went to this xmas store last yr. and there were a lot of photo ops. We do the photo cards every yr. but I've never thought about doing them @ WDW or getting the photo cards there. Okay, I have to do this. Thanks for the tips!!!

Here's a pic of DBF and I in May in that exact spot!

Another thought I had... if you go minigolfing, go to Winter Summerland, lots of Christmas photo ops there, although you have to pay for the admission.
