Photo Gallery CD Thread*MAJOR CHANGE ON PP PRICING WITH WDW & DLR. See post #303-

not sure if i have this right...

i buy the pp cd at DL for $60.

they scan and take photos of us...

then i take cd when i get home to walgreens and print/pay for pictures?

i think im lost :confused3

Almost. You buy the Photo Gallery CD at Dland for $60 (less discount if you have an AP) There is a coupon inc. in the CD package which will give you your PhotoCD, inc. shipping. The coupon is good for $59.95 off and $2.95 for shipping.

After you return home you will upload your card(s) to the website.(You have 30 days to upload your photos) After you are done (you'll have 30 days to edit) you will order the PhotoCD which is $59.95 for the DLR one. Before you complete your order you will see the space for the promotional code. That's where you enter the code from your coupon from the Gallery CD you can buy at DLR. Your revised total will be $0 unless you have additional items in your cart.

I just ordered mine last night and it works just like that.:goodvibes

Once you receive your CD you can take it anywhere to order prints. Personally, I send them online to Sam's Club. I usually also order a print of the Copyright Release as well. Just so there are no issues. If you don't send the CR to the store, make sure to bring along the Copy Release to the store when you pick them up.

One thing newcomers to the PP website should know-you can upload your own photos to the site and add a few (pretty limited) borders. HOWEVER, none of your photos will be on the PhotoCD. Only the ones taken by Disney CMs will be on the CD. I think this is a little vague on the website and I have had friends (in my CD share) upload many of their photos only to be disappointed when I've told them they have to order prints (or some other product) to get those enhanced photos. The prints aren't too bad, only 19 cents apiece. But if you are only ordering a few, the shipping adds alot. I had one friend who only wanted 5 prints. It was over $4 for the prints, inc. shipping for the 5 4x6's.

There are certain additions that the photo store on Main Street can do, like add character signatures, and even add animated characters (like holding Tinkerbell in your hand, and there are several other characters that can be added, too) Unfortunately, if you by the Photopass CD, those particular additions are not available. I wish those were part of the PP CD.

Actually, you are right that many of the autographs aren't available when you do it online. Seems like it's hit or miss on them. I think the photographer has do do something on their end that makes the siggie available.

But, shots like the ones where you "Magically" hold TINK in your hand are available online. Again, these are set up by the photographer when they take them. Ask every photographer you see if they can take any "Magical" photos. They will tell you if they can and what ones they can take. When you have the "magical" ones taken you may notice the photographer taking a photo of their foot. That's a signal to the tech people to add in something on the next photos.

Some add ins are: Tink in your hand; Mickey, Minnie, and Goofy "Soarin" over your head; Stitch bursting out of the ground; Fighting off Capt. Hook; Fighting off Darth Vadar; Sitting next to Mickey while he waves his hand; sitting next to Minnie while she blows you a kiss; Holding a big bunch of balloons; Stitch sitting next to you eating an ice cream cone. There are also a few seasonal ones-Stitch bursting out of a present; Hitchhiking Ghosts. Some of these (Tink, Soarin, Balloons) are easy to get. Others like Hook, Ghosts, and Darth are much harder.

Here are some of mine, over the years (all done online)

This one is widely available in DL and DCA

Very hard to get. You hold the light saber. The rest is added by the techs.

Can't guarantee you can get this pose with Minnie. This was an experiment that the photographer wasn't sure would make it through. ( I mean the guest pose, not the Minnie one-this is widely available.)Logo added online

If your child does the Jedi training show all the photos taken (a min. of 3 your child) can be added to your PP card. :goodvibes

Wow! There are some really amazing effects available! Thank you so much for sharing your family's photos (they are so cute!). We've gotten plenty of photos the last couple of times, but the photographers have never offered up the "magical" photos. We'll make sure we ask next time.

Does anyone know how long the Gallery CD with the coupon for the PP CD is available?

I don't think anyone knows. I would assume it's until they run out of the ones with the coupons inside. The coupon doesn't have an expiration on it either.

giving this a quick bump before I leave ... has anyone bought one recently and does it still have the coupon?

I'm at DL now and will be at WDW in 3 weeks. I just bought the Photopass CD at DCA Greetings store for $59.95. Since the last pictures taken on my photopass card will be from WDW, does anyone know how much extra I would have to pay when I order my CD online? Will it be difference between the pre-arrival price of $99.95 or full price of $149.95? Thanks.

Did you pay the pre-arrival price of $99.95 already? If so then it should be the difference of $40. If not then it would be the difference of $90.

Do you know anyone that would like to share your CD with you that will be at DLR after you are at WDW? You might want to check with your friends/family to see if they know anyone who is going. It would save you $40 or $90. (If you prebought the WDW CD you could ask for a refund.

If you are still at DLR I would ask them at the PP store just to make sure what the price difference would be. I know when I ordered my CD, after I entered my coupon code it showed a credit for $59.95 and one for $2.95 (Shipping) HTH.

If you haven't ordered yet and it's been less than 30 days you can contact PP through their website and have them try to locate the photos. What usually happens with missing photos is that they are accidentally scanned to someone else card. There is a lost pictures form you can fill out onlline. The more info you provide them (time, location, description of guest, uploading a picture, etc.) the better.

Hope this helps.

FYI--They did find my lost photo, even though it had been more than 30 days by the time they addressed my case. ALSO, since I had already given up and ordered my cd, they went ahead and sent me a new cd, no charge, with my lost pics on it ! GREAT customer service, once again!

Wow, that's great! I've only had one issue with my CD's over the years. I had an order that never came. It showed that it was shipped but then couldn't be tracked. They resent it and that one was delayed. I called (again) and they sent out a 3rd set and credited me 1/2 off for my trouble. And I was able to keep the 2nd set (3rd set never showed.)

Great information! :thumbsup2 I was wondering if it would be possible to get three separate trips on one CD. We are going to DL tomorrow, Nov. 24. I was thinking it would be cool to get pics with the park all decorated for Christmas. We then go to WDW Dec. 16 - 23. We are planning on going to DL again in Jan. to get the DL price on the CD. I have three questions:

1) Is it possible to do all three visits on one CD?

2) If this is possible, then when should I upload our Nov. 24 photos?

2) When would we have to take our PP pics by in Jan. in order to get the DL price?

From what I read, I am pretty sure we can do the last two visits on one CD. That is the priority. I was just thinking it would be cool to add the first DL visit. Thanks!

It all depends on when you are going in Jan. to DLR but as long as it's not too late in the month it should work.

Here's how:
You are going to get your first pix taken tomorrow on 11/24. Wait until the 30th day to upload them. That would be 12/24. To be safe if you can upload them on 12/23 that might be better. This will depend on when you get home on the 23rd or if you'll have a laptop at WDW while you are there. If you do you can access the disneyphotopass.com site (for FREE!) in your room. No $9.95 a day charges apply.

If you upload on 12/24 you'll have until 1/23 (30 more days) to order your CD (or 1/22 if you upload on 12/23). You can definitely get your WDW pix in and depending on when you are going to DLR you can get those in as well.

So when are you going to DLR in Jan.?

If you are going after 1/22 you can still do it-all you have to do is pay $4.95 for 7 more days or $9.95 for 15 more days. (a bargain if you can get all 3 on one order!).

Plus, you will need to have your last pictures taken in your account be taken at DLR in order to get the DLR price of $59.95. It doesn't matter when you upload them, the price is set by what pictures you have taken last.

You can buy the PhotoGallery CD while you are there this week ($59.95 plus tax, less AP discount if you or someone with you as an AP). Then just enter the coupon code in the promotional box when you order your CD in January and it will credit you the $59.95 and $2.95 shipping. A heck of a deal!

If you'll be going to DLR early in Jan. go ahead and upload the pix from this trip earlier if you can. The reason I say this is some of the borders may disappear. Though I'm assuming the Christmas ones are there already, and should be through at least part of Jan.

ADDED-Just checked the website and the Christmas ones for WDW and DLR are there. The 2010 borders are still there. (The 2011 ones usually show up a few weeks into 2011). Yeah-there are finally new holiday borders! I was getting tired of the old ones. Also there's a new DCA border whjich I like as well. The Halloween ones and the Thanksgiving one is still there.

Thanks Dizneydaz! I am excited. We are AP holders so we do go to DL quite a bit. We never thought about getting Photopass there. But we are real excited now to actually take photopass pics at our "home" park! :cool1: My mom is bringing her laptop to WDW. So we should be able to load the pics on Dec. 23. Thanks for the tip on the free access to PP website. So it sounds like we just need to visit DL before Jan. 22.

I will buy the CD tomorrow. BTW, if anyone is near an Albertsons. They are offering a deal on gift cards. If you buy $100 in gift cards, you get a $20 coupon for groceries. I will use my Disney gift card and AP discount tomorrow.

Thanks again! :thumbsup2

You're welcome and thanks for the Albertson's tip. I have to renew our AP soon so I'll need to spend at least 2-1 day tix to do that. Looks like I'll be buying $200 in GC to get $40 in groceries. :goodvibes

Have fun tomorrow. Hope the rain stays away. My DM and DSis went for a short visit yesterday and it was pretty busy. More than they expected. I counldn't go since my AP exp. on 10/18.

If you watch the Christmas parade, give a big wave to Reindeer #1 for me. He's my fav. :grouphug: Thanks.

Okay everyone if you didn't pick up the Photo Gallery CD at DLR don't despair! There's a special deal online you can get that is almost as good!

Enter your Photo CD and the Gallery CD (from DLR or WDW) in your cart and enter promotion code BONUSCDF. It will credit you the $39.95 for the Gallery CD (online price-more in parks). The total comes to $69.85 inc. $9.90 shipping. Not as good a deal but not bad. Basically you'll be paying the extra shipping cost ($6.95) to get the Gallery CD.

But the offer expires 11/28/10 so you have to act fast.

There are several other offers that exp. on 11/28 as well.

FYI: I picked up the CD earlier this week and was told they have "plenty!" :D

One more FYI on the Albertsons deal. The fine print says you can only use one coupon per transaction. I bought the GC before I bought my groceries and was able to use the coupon the same day. It's a pretty good deal considering I had to buy groceries either way. I look at it as getting a $100 GC for $80!

So far the forecast shows no rain. Fingers are crossed it stays that way. I am hoping it's not too crazy tomorrow. But if so, then we will just spend more time taking PP photos! :rotfl:

Thanks for taking the time to reply. It is much appreciated. :)

Unfortunately I don't know anyone who is going to DL after my WDW trip. :sad2: I didn't want to take the chance of being charged the additional $90 for WDW photos, so I returned the DL CD. I purchased the $99.95 pre-arrival PP CD instead.

Pleases help with one more question. Do you know if I can add PP photos taken on the day of the pre-arrival PP CD purchase?

Did you pay the pre-arrival price of $99.95 already? If so then it should be the difference of $40. If not then it would be the difference of $90.

I would think so but I don't know for sure. Try it and see what happens. Are you talking about ones you took at DLR on teh same day you pre-bought? If it doesn't allow you to use your pre-bought code then I would call them and explain what you are trying to do. I would think they would be able to handle it for you. Good luck!

Thanks deann for the Albertson's tip. Just got back from buying $200 in Disney cards and $100 in other ones. I may have to return and got another $100 (I'm thinking Kohl's).

Hope you are having a great time and aren't too cold-it's really cold today!
