What program could I use to edit a photo (self-portrait) to minimize blemishes and even out skintone?

The GIMP is a decent free program that does much of what Photoshop does.

Gotta say I love the blemish tool in the makeover tools on Paintshop Pro X2. Coming from someone with horrible skin I use it a lot and its easy. Just adjust size and settings on the brush and click, very simple. Oh and its on sale $49.99 at someplace this week Officemax?? I think...

I agree with paint shop pro x2, it is easy to use, but for portraits
portrait professional simplifies the process, I can do a headshot in a few minutes, and blending and suchis way easier than any other program..

I did this one in a few minutes

That's amazing, what you've done with that photo. I tried using GIMP last night, but it's a little more involved than I was looking for it to be.

if you'd like me to process your photo I can do it for you, the software I mentioned is incredible, yes you can do all these things with photo shop or paint shop pro, but what would take an expert hours to do with a portrait..I can do in minutes with portrait professional..
