I Just started using photoplus 6... and have no ability in editing photo's to begin with :rotfl:

My Question - is there anyway way to edit everything in a picture to a solid white background (to use in layers) except for the things I may want to keep in the picture. did that make sense?

i don't know anything abut photoplus but if you have a magnetic lasso you can put it around the person or object you want to save, the "inverse" it( it's in "selection" in photoshop elements but you probably have something similar) then delete the inverted selection (which would now be the background or everything except what you originally lassoed) then make a fill layer in the color you want and layer the subject one over that layer( subject on top)and you should have the subject with a plain background( white or whatever color you made the fill layer)
there are other ways to select the person/object but the magnetic lasso usually works best for me

i'm guessing you want to save less than you want to delete..if you want to delete less and it's a big hunk , like sky, you can just select ,skip the inverse part and delete what you select...it's easier to select the less detailed, bigger object and inverse if you need to than have a nit picky tons of angled thing you are trying to select...hope that makes sense

If Photoplus can use Photoshop plug-ins, there are several that help automate the process of picking out a specific part of a photo, leaving the rest of the photo "empty" (truly transparent, not just a white background - ready to drop onto another photo.) Knockout is one, Fluid Mask is another, and I know there's several others, as well.
