Hey there. So excited to have done well in the finals! Anyway...this piece is from a series that i did in 2007 called "World Showcase from the top of a garbage can"....I know that's weird. But that's literally what i did. I wanted to capture World Showcase at night, the way it just glows. In order to do that, i needed a longer exposure. Unfortunately i don't have the patience to bring my tripod into the parks so camera shake was going to be a big problem. I was looking around for what to do when i spotted a perfectly placed garbage can. I set the camera on top, shut off the flash, focused, hit the button, and the rest is history. Most of the shots actually gave a very cool perspective since the garbage cans are obviously shorter that an average person, and there's only one angle to choose from. Give it a try!

It's always nice to have something you like validated.

The story here is a long one but I will give you all the shorter version. I was on a trip with 2 of my sisters, my brother-in-law, and my two small nieces. One of them was sick two nights before and we missed our reservation for the Maya Grill. Since we were on the dining plan we had an extra table service meal... we got to France and got a table at Les Chefs but had to wait for the restaurant to actually open. I originally took the picture with one of my nieces included (the other was napping in the stroller) but I thought it might be a nice keepsake for them later on to remember they new toys. France was the perfect setting for these two!
