I saw on the Photo Connect facebook page that the Photo Connect pre-sale prices are going up June 1. They did not state how much. Has anyone heard anything?

Our trip is not until December. If I purchase now would it still be good in December?

buying it now will now will avoid the price increase in the future.

Photoconnect is not activated until the day of first use, so you can buy it now and not activate it until December.

We bought our Photoconnect annual pass in October of last year (like you, we were purchasing early to avoid a price increase), and didn't activate it until May 1st. Now, it doesn't expire until May 1st of next year.

Thanks! for the info. I will go ahead and purchase to save a little money. Don't know how much it will go up but saving a little big helps.

Eeek...another price increase?

I was planning to buy for our next trip but was hoping not to make a decision until September. Have to talk to DH tonight.

seems like the more that get hooked on the photo connect deal, the more they buy it for their trips.

when something like that is selling regularly, prices usually increase.

they know you like it so this is something they can increase and people will continue to purchase.

I literately just purchased the Photo Connect card and then came to the boards. Glad to know I saved a few bucks for my trip in a few weeks! I have received such great information on here I know my family will have a great trip. :rose:

Just saw the new prices on face book.

Going up a good bit.

In park prices change on Monday (june 1) to the following:
3 Day Star Card - $99.95 - currently $59.95
Annual Pass Star Card - $149.95 - currently $89.95

I just bought the 14 day card for less than the new price of the 3 day. YIKES!!

OMG! I bought the annual pass last October for $49.95, and just activated it on May 1st. My $50 purchase is now worth three times that!! :faint:

The new prices are now on par with what SeaWorld charges for a similar product.

oh my!!! same here. bought last july for 49.95. egats that is a huge price jump. do they do renewals?

I just happened to see this thread and bought mine yesterday! Thanks for the heads up. You just saved me a bunch of $$$!

Thanks so much. I went ahead and purchased. I haven't set my trip dates yet. But knowing that it is valid until activated plus the price increase made this a no brainer.

Just bought the 3-day pass. Thanks to this thread ;) In fact this whole site has helped me save a ton over the last 6 months of planning!!

Thanks for this thread! I was going back and forth about whether to buy this, but I went ahead and got it now ahead of the price increase.

I had the AP for 2 years and lit it expire this past December even at the $90. At $150 they are crazy and at $90 it's still crazy.

I think saying they are "crazy" is being very nice....

I'll be the "glass half full" girl :). Maybe they're going to add more Photoconnect photographers and locations as a result of the increase? I am hoping that perhaps its getting popular enough that the program will be expanded and therefore "worth" more.

We bought paid $49.95 for our Photoconnect AP, and got a lot of photos on our first trip alone (and we hope to get in two more Universal vacations before it expires). A few of the photos are beautiful.....I have printed and framed two of them in 8 x 10 size. I still would have been satisfied at $90. Would I pay $150 for the same product? Probably not in its current state....but it looks like there's now a Photoconnect photographer at the new Raptor encounter, so maybe there's more of that kind of thing to come. Hopefully!

In defense of universal I did notice this trip lots of random photographers it different spots in the parks, but there was no rhyme or reason for this. Plus there is no exacts spots as they are floating around and its hit or miss. In the world of digital age and many carrying decent capable mobile devices it makes it really tuff to lay down that kind of money for an AP holder.

Can someone explain how the photo card works? We will be in the park for 3 days. If I purchased the photo card for 3 days, can I download the pictures the week after I get home? I will not have a computer with me on this trip. Thanks for your help. Also, if purchased does the entire family have to be in each picture or can just the kids be in a picture or two?
