Photo Card Driving Licences

My dad is coming with us in September and is going to driving one of the cars. He hasn't got a photocard licence. He only has the paper licence. Will he need to change it so that he has the new photocard one.

Nope - the old paper licenses are fine

If he had a new style photo licence, he would still need to take the paper part with him, anyway.

So he's better off with the old style licence, really.

The photocard is very useful for ID on the few occassions you may be asked when changing TC's though.
