I've asked this over on the Photography Board, but thought I'd try here too:

I've uploaded my photos to Kodak EasyShare Gallery (or whatever they're calling themselves these days) and was about to order prints when I noticed something called Photo Books. Apparently, Kodak can print your photos directly into an album-type thingy, so you don't get a bunch of prints that you have to then put in an album.

Has anyone ever ordered a Photo Book? I find the idea of a printed book appealing, but I'm wondering what the quality is like.

Thanks for any feedback!

I have one from photoworks. I did it for our dd's first wdw trip since I don't scrapbook. I loved being able to put in captions and change the layouts on each page. It's really cute. I want to do a book for each of my children's first year. It's a great idea for grandparent gifts as well.

That is SUCH a cute idea! I don't scrapbook either and that's why I thought the photo book seemed pretty nifty.

Thanks! :thumbsup2

I have done this twice from Shutterfly.com, and will likely buy at least one more. We made a photo book with pictures of my husband and I growing up, and also us dating, and used it as the guestbook for our wedding (our guests signed in the margins around the photos). Then I had a photo book made for my mother of our wedding photos. I will likely do the same for my MIL. The photo quality is surprisingly good. Cost cannot be beat. A 20 page photo book is $30, but Shutterfly frequently runs sales, and I haven't paid full price yet. I paid $20 for the first one and also got free shipping. I got the second one free (I joined one of their pre-paid print programs. They are running a special now, I believe...20% off I think.

We ordered four photobooks from a Canadian company after our wedding. Two came out well but the pictures looked really washed out in the others. They make great gifts though!

I am working on my photobook with Shutterfly right now.

A marathon teammate last year had one from a trip she did. It was bound--it looked like a real book. They have a variety of options. I am choosing one where I can modify the layouts. Captions and titles can be added as well. The book I plan to get will also let me put a title on it and a photo on the cover.

:)

I just did 3 this morning on Shutterfly. I have bought one previously from them and LOVED it and it was pretty easy to put together.I plan to do them for all major vacations and for my kids; They make awesome gifts. I hate scrapbooking.

I had a co-worker do the Kodak photo books (Ofoto). She did one for every month for the first year of her son's life. They really came out nice.
I've done the snapfish books and they came out great as well. We even did one for my BIL when he turned 50. We took high school year book photos (photocopies), old photos, etc. While they said the pictures weren't high enough resolution they still came out great.

I've done one from Kodak Easyshare Gallery and I love it! The quality was awesome and I will definitely be doing more!
