Check out Princess In Oz's posts for the trick... in a word (or 2)... Category Stretch .

Give it a shot, go out shooting for a day or two (or part of a day or two) and see what you come up with, you may be surprised. Besides, there's still plenty of time left on this one, especially since I'll be filling more category entries in early-mid Oct (for a whole Hunt-Stretch!) since I'll be heading down to the world at the end of Sept/beginning of Oct for 10 days of photographic bliss(ters).

(Originally, I was going 2 weeks earlier, so it'd have been less of a stretch, but work made me shift the trip back)

And, since it's been so hot here over the past...well...months (stupid Gulf Coast), a couple pics from last Christmas at Dad's house in Waterbury, VT. I was up there for 2 weeks between Boston, northern VT, and northern NH over Christmas. Woke up in Berlin, NH on Christmas day to -4 degree coldness. Reminded me why I live in Alabama now.

And to keep on topic...these are my totally outside of the date range pics for Chilled. Yeah. That's it.

Noshery - What is It? These are Hawker dishes - Indian style!

Dosa - pancake made from rice flour

Murtabak - Roti Chania stuffed with different fillings including a protein (chicken in this case) and vegetables (peas and the like). Served with some curry sauce on the side.

Indian Rojak - A salad topped with a spicy sauce made from sweet potato.

I am still enjoying everyone's pictures!

Kofslinky I am so jealous of your lightning shot! I have been trying to get one all summer. Last summer and the one before we just had storms where the lightning lit up the sky, but there wasn't a bolt that you could see. This summer we have had so many, but I just haven't gotten the timing right, or I was aiming a a spot and then the lightning was moving with the storm.

So, recent shooting (very little, but hey) has gotten me a couple more submissions for categories I've already done .

First off...
What is it? - In this case, it's some sort of big ugly snail. Saw this thing hanging in the bushes outside of my office as I started to walk home last night.

And the second?

Let's call this, Noshery!
I walked out of the apartment this morning and lit a smoke. When it was finished, I walked over to the dumpster to toss the butt out (I'm good and don't throw it on the ground!) and there were about 8 of these little guys all running around it. Someone threw something tasty away.

6 of those 8 ran off, but these two hung around.
