I have some pics to organize and post. Unfortunately not as many as I would like as I have had to deal with an ankle injury that makes walking no fun at times.

Hope to get them up in the next day or so.

I've been busy in 3D life; so haven't had much of an opportunity to get out and about either.

Thanks it's going to require surgery next year. For now I wear a brace and limp.

I did get some pics after seeing the surgeon monday but life keeps getting in the way of uploading and posting. This summer went very fast. We have also had the wettest summer ever in my area which makes taking pictures difficult.

I love looking at doors in Europe.

My wife came up with the idea of creating a collage of the doors. We haven't had time to do much work on it yet, tho. Too use getting ready for the Wonder going through the Panama Canal.

Where I Live





So....I did another walk around the city the other night. Thought it might be nice to show you the Arcades and Alleys that make up Melbourne.

I started in Melbourne Central.....where the shopping mall complex is built around the Shot Tower.









This is the Old General Post Office, effectively the point where all distance away from the city is measured from.







The GPO is now used as a mall/arcade for designer clothes.







Across the street and a couple of doors down from the GPO is the Royal Arcade.








Yes, we've been here before on a previous hunt.








When you exit out of the other end of the Royal Arcade, you'll see this little alleyway.








It leads into The Block arcade.








The mosaic floor here is listed by National Trust.







This nondescript arcade is another one of those places in Melbourne.







Walk through.....and you'll head out to Centre Place.







And at the end of Centre Place and across the street, is Degraves Street. Lots of places to eat and graze along here.







Let's finish this walk with the Melbourne City Town Hall.

Folks - I'm 6 days away from heading out to the US for 4 weeks. I should be back mid-October and I hope you'll keep this thread going with your pictures.

I look forward to seeing it when I return; I am trying to make sure I disconnect from technology as much as possible on this trip.

I don't. I am in the third stage of recovery from my surgery. I had arthritis surgery for the base of my thumb and they also had to fuse one of the joints. I am now out of the cast and in a splint which I should be able to get out of, and into a much smaller one right before my short disney trip and cruise the end of the month. I have tried to use my camera by I cant turn the zoom ring with my left hand right now.

How was your trip Princess? I've been on the look out for your return and would love to see some of your pictures!!

At last count, I'm touching somewhere between 9000 - 10000 pictures.
And it was only the fact that my 17 - 55 mm/f2.8 lens stopped working that curtailed me to that number! It stopped working on day 5 (out of 27). It was rather challenging taking pictures without that focal range.

Hope you're feeling better. Has the surgery been successful? Bummer about not being about to use the zoom ring.

You took 1200 pics on Sunday night??? I'm not sure how many I took. I haven't even gotten down to looking at the WDW pictures yet. I'm still sifting through DLR.
